摘要： The present invention relates to textile articles and clothing such as outdoor garments, indoor garments, and commercial protective wear exposed to contact mixtures of water and oil, swimwear and winter wear exposed to mixtures of water and air. At least part of these textile articles possess a surface provided with at least one of 1) a high surface area, 2) hierarchical pattern, 3) contact angles such that hydrophilic portion of a contact mixture possesses a high contact angle and the hydrophobic portion of a contact mixture possesses a low contact angle, and 4) hysteresis angle greater than 5 degrees. Hydrophobic/Hydrophilic contact mixtures of the present invention can be surfaces where water and or ice are present in combination with oil and or air. The textile articles of the present invention resist slippage on surfaces possessing hydrophobic/hydrophilic contact mixtures.

摘要： A nautical cleat is provided for tying a rope of a boat. First and second shafts are installable on a deck via first and second positioning elements, respectively, and further support first and second tying elements, respectively. A transverse body mechanically connects said first and second tying elements. Fastening means securely fasten said first and second positioning elements to said deck. A first roller-shaped towing element tows and rolls up said rope and is rotatable about a first rotation axis defined by said first shaft. A second roller-shaped towing element is rotatable about a second rotation axis defined by said second shaft and substantially parallel to said first rotation axis. An actuating device comprises at least one motor operatively connected to said first and/or second roller-shaped towing element. Connecting means connect the actuating device to said deck, wherein said actuating device is placed in a position underlying said lower surface. A spherical joint, operatively interposed between the first shaft and the transverse body, allows the rotation of the transverse body with respect to said first shaft, around at least one substantially horizontal axis.

摘要： Bio-adhesive textured surfaces are described which allow implants to be localized within a living body. Hierarchical levels of texture on an implantable medical device, some capable of establishing a Wenzel state and others a Cassie state, may be employed to interface with living structures to provide resistance to device migration. Since a gaseous state is traditionally required to establish a Cassie or Wenzel state, and gases do not remain long in living tissue, described herein are tissue/device interactions analogous to the above states with the component normally represented by a gas replaced by a bodily constituent, wherein separation of tissue constituents develops and an analogous Cassie, Wenzel, or Cassie-Wenzel state evolves. Further methods of making molds to produce said devices are described herein.

摘要： Aging resistant emulsified asphalt compositions and related methods of preparing and applying the same for use in asphalt treatment and paving applications. The aging resistant emulsified asphalt compositions can include an aging resistant asphalt composition, emulsifier, and water. The resulting residue formed when the emulsified asphalt composition has cured is aging resistant and can be resistant to age-induced cracking even after simulated aging of 14 years and 21 years. Appropriate use of emulsifiers in some embodiments can further improve aging resistance in the residues.
