    • Disclosed in various embodiments are integrated lens and bezel systems for a flashlight or other lighting unit. Various embodiments include a housing, including a bezel portion and a body portion, a lens, wherein the lens and the bezel together comprise a single, continuous component, and a light source disposed within the housing, wherein the light source is configured to interact with the lens to provide a light beam. Some embodiments provide a mechanism for adjusting the relative positions of the light source and lens, for example to allow for focusing of the light beam. In some embodiments, the lens is continuous with just the bezel portion, whereas in other embodiments, the lens, bezel, and all or part of the body portion are formed as a single, unitary component, for instance by injection-molding or co-molding.

    • A lighting unit is provided including at least one LED, a plug for connecting the unit to an appliance and a light emitting element. The lighting unit may include electronic components to condition power from the appliance. The light emitting element may comprise a reflector where the LED emits light into the reflector and the light is collimated by the reflector and emitted from the unit. The position of the LED may be adjustable so the LED moves closer or farther from the reflector. Light is emitted from the unit in a narrower or wider beam in response to moving the LED. Alternately, the light emitting element may be an optical waveguide with a receiving end proximate to the LED emitting face and an emitting face away from and opposite the receiving face. The optical waveguide may collimate the wide angle of light emitted by the LED to form a narrow, directed beam.

    • The present disclosure relates to a focusing optic for shaping a beam of light from a light source, such as a light emitting diode (LED), for example in a flashlight or other lighting unit. In various embodiments, the focusing optic includes a central focusing element configured to direct a light beam from an LED in a desired direction; a side wall extending from the central focusing element, wherein the side wail is configured to form a rear void for receiving the LED; and an annular ring portion extending from the side wall and surrounding the central focusing element, wherein the annular ring portion is adapted to reflect light in a desired direction. Sn some embodiments, the side wall and annular ring portion together define a thickness dimension that varies less than 20% over the lens body.
