    • Metal bodies are sprayed with refractory material, the surface of the refractory material is subjected to any necessary mechanical finishing treatment, and an epoxy resin is then applied thereto. The expression "refractory material" is limited to aluminium oxide, zirconium oxides, mixtures of these, and silicon carbide. When the body is of ferrous metal it may first be sprayed with nickel; the refractory material may then be applied by a flame-spraying device, and finally a stick of epoxy resin may be rubbed over the heated surface. The body may then be heated to cure the resin. Examples are given of coating a steel roller, and the grooves in a steel garniture block for a cigarette-making machine. Specifications 629,853, 767,564 and 771,031 are referred to.ALSO:Metal bodies are sprayed with refractory material, the surface of the refractory material is subjected to any necessary mechanical finishing treatment, and an epoxy resin is then applied thereto. • 155,176. Davies, D. May 13, 1920. Wagons. - A truck containing stone dust and intended to be employed in a coal mine one at either end of a train of coal trucks to reduce the danger of explosion from the coal dust, has at one or both sides a chamber b communicating with the body a by means of orifices c through which the stone dust can pass. Within each chamber b is a paddle wheel d mounted on a spindle e which has at one end a sprocket-pinion g adapted to be driven by a, chain h from a sprocket on the axle of one pair of running wheels m. The spindle e is surrounded by a sleeve f where it passes through the body a. The jolting of the truck causes dust to pass from the body into the chambers b, whence the revolving paddles deliver it upwardly to be deposited in a similar manner to the coal dust it is intended to mingle with. Where one stone dust truck only is employed it is preferably placed at the rear of a train of coal trucks.
