摘要： 9962. Erwood, J., and Walch, R. H. May 11. Door opening and closing apparatus.-Relates to a method of opening and closing folding warehouse doors. The two sections of the door are hinged together, the lower section being preferably longer than the upper section by the thickness of the door. The upper section is hinged to the horizontal bar 3, which is guided on the rigidly-mounted vertical rods 4. Each lower corner of the door is mounted on wheels 11 provided with pivot studs 11 , Fig. 5, which project behind the flange 12 of the vertical angle-iron 12 to retain the pulleys in their tracks. The door is actuated through a system of pulleys. Each of the lifting-cables 15, 16 is connected to the links 14 at the lower edges of the door, the cable 15 passing through the bar 3 over the pulleys 9, 8, attached to the bar 3, 10, and thence to the weight 18. The other chain 16 at the left-hand side of the door passes over pulleys 9, 8, across the door, and over the pulley 10 to the weight 18, which need only be 40 per cent. of the weight of the door. For operating the door, an endless driving-chain 21 passes over a large working pulley 20 rigid with the doubly-grooved pulley 10. To obviate the tendency of the door to remain buckled outwards, pins 24 and hooks 26 are provided on the upper and lower section of each door respectively to engage with the inclined face of the hooks 23 and pins 27 attached to the guide-track 12.

Standard 14 is mounted at the desired height on a tripod base 12 by a pin 24 engaging aligned holes 18, 20 in the standard and base. The brackets 34, 36 define openings 38 of rectangular, square or circular form, for putlogs, ledgers, crossbars. The base may be integral with the standard.

摘要： A seal for a high speed flywheel mounted on a shaft and comprising an evacuated core, the seal having two housing sections, and a cavity formed between the housing sections, lip seals being provided on either side of the cavity, the lip seals being in contact with and encircling the shaft, wherein an oil based fluid can be inserted into the cavity via a fill nipple, and during insertion of the fluid, air can be expelled from the cavity via a bleed nipple, whereby the fluid can form a hermetical seal against the shaft, and wherein the fluid inserted into the cavity does not vaporize at the pressure of the evacuated flywheel core.
