Class 6 (i)] In machines comprising a power-driven steerable chassis 1 having tools 9 mounted for lateral movement simultaneously with the movement of the steerable wheels 6, tool carriers 10 are pivotally mounted on a transverse shaft 11 and a tool lifting member 15 is displaceable lengthwise of the chassis to engage the tool carriers to lift the tools 9. A loading spring 13 is connected between the member 15 and each tool carrier for urging the tools toward the ground. The shaft 11 is moved laterally by a bell-crank 33 and link 24 attached to a shaft 21 which is connected to the rear wheels 6 by chain and sprocket gearing 29, 30 and to a steering column 16 by reduction gearing 19, 20. The laterally adjustable tools 9 together with track erasers 59, 61 are lifted from the ground by a hand-lever 38 through links 45, 49. The track erasers 59 slide in a guide 55 and an arm 63 mounted on link 45 is connected to the rear eraser 61 by a Bowden cable 62. A pawl 26 connecting link 24 to the shaft 21 is connected to arm 63 by a Bowden cable 28. When the tools are lifted the pawl 26 is withdrawn and the steering wheel used solely for steering the rear wheels 6, which are connected to the brakes of driving wheels 3 so that on turning the vehicle the appropriate driving wheel is braked. The spacing of the driving wheels and tools may be varied to suit the plant rows. The Provisional Specification describes an embodiment wherein the withdrawal of the pawl by the lifting mechanism disconnects the rear wheels from the steering column which remains connected to the means for laterally moving the tools. The machine is steered by individual foot brakes on the driving wheels. Seed drills or spraying nozzles may be used in place of cultivating tools.

Also disclosed is a stub mast 3 that extends along a stub axis, the stub mast being free to rotate about the stub axis and being connected to the main mast by a stub pivot.

摘要： La presente invencion provee una vacuna de VIH atenuado que comprende un virus de VIH modificado para que se replique unicamente en presencia de por lo menos un analogo de tetraciclina. En forma adicional , la presente invencion provee un metodo para la inmunizacion de humanos contra VIH que comprende administrar a un humano una vacuna que incluya un virus de VIH modificado para que se replique unicamente en presencia de por lo menos un analogo de tetraciclina. En forma simultanea, se administra por lo menos un analogo de tetraciclina durante un periodo suficiente para permitir la replicacion del virus de VIH modificado in vivo en cantidad suficiente para producir inmunidad. De preferencia, el analogo de tetraciclina es doxiciclina. Se produce un genoma del virus VIH-DoxT de replicacion competente, el cual se puede controlar mediante la presencia o ausencia de doxiciclina preparando un promotor, TetopTCAT; produciendo un provirus, pVIH- DoxT, utilizando el promotor TetopCAT, y transfectando el pVIH-DoxT en lineas celulares en presencia de doxiciclina. Se produce un genoma del virus VIH-DoxSp de replicacion competente, el cual se puede controlar mediante la presencia o ausencia de doxiciclina preparando un promotor, TetopSpCAT; produciendo un provirus, pVIH-DoxSp, utilizando el promotor TetopCAT, y transfectando el pVIH-DoxSp en lineas celulares en presencia de doxiciclina. Las vacunas contra el VIH se preparan utilizando los genomas de los virus VIH-DoxT y VIH-DoxSp. Se administran estos virus y doxiciclina a hospederos humanos. La doxiciclina se administra durante un tiempo suficiente para acumular inmunidad y despues se detiene la administracion del farmaco de modo que los virus dependientes de doxiciclina ya no se replican.
