摘要： A projectile that includes strakes mounted about the perimeter of the midsection of the projectile and a pusher plate assembly mounted about the aft of the projectile so that a sub- caliber projectile may be fired from a larger caliber gun. The pusher plate assembly forms a seal with the bore at the aft end of the projectile. The strakes maintain the center line position of the projectile within the bore. The pusher plate assembly further designed to fragment upon exiting the bore while the strakes remain with the projectile to enhance aerodynamic qualities of the projectile in flight.

摘要： A shorting plug for a pulsed power system is provided, having a rotator assembly at least partially nested within a cam housing and at least partially rotatable within the cam housing with respect to a cam rail that operably engages the rotator assembly to transition between a shorted mode of operation and an open mode of operation. During the shorted mode of operation, a pair of electrical contacts extend from the cam housing to operably engage the electrical contacts electrically connected to a energy storage device such as a capacitor, while the electrical contacts are retracted and rotated within the cam housing during the open mode of operation. The rotator assembly is connected to a housing cap, which allows the operator to transition the shorting plug between the two modes of operation. The shorting plug also contains a first latch mechanism that operably engages the housing cap during the shorted mode of operation, and a second latch mechanism that operably engages the housing during the open mode of operation. During transition between the shorted and open modes of operation, a vertical load, a horizontal load and a rotational load are applied by the operator to overcome the horizontal load and rotational locking mechanism provided by the first and second latch mechanisms, a downward vertical load applied to the rotator assembly that operably engages the cam rail, and the cam rail that provides a rotational limit of the rotator assembly without an upward vertical load being applied.

The transparent armor piercing protection system comprises ballistic plastic prisms with mirrored external surfaces disposed between armor plates so that the reflection of the image occurs entirely within the prism. 摘要： A solid state ignition safety device for rocket assisted projectiles having a piezoelectric generator that charges a capacitor during the initial acceleration of the projectile by the launching propellant charge. The capacitor is then discharged after a delay to ignite an initiator, which ignites the rocket motor of the projectile. A time delay circuit can be integrated into the ignition safety device to further delay the ignition of the initiator until the projectile has reached the ideal point in its trajectory to ignite the rocket motor.

摘要： Apparatus and related methods of utilizing a common mounting provision within an armored vehicle. The common mounting provision includes a plurality of common mounting bosses that are arranged in a grid type pattern formed by attaching a plurality of mounting bars to an interior wall of an armored hull with each mounting bar including at least one of the common mounting bosses. The grid type pattern provides for a common spatial distance between adjacent apertures in rows and columns. When engineering changes are needed, the grid type pattern provides the engineer with known mounting bosses having a known spacing allowing the engineer to readily design the component to attach to the common mounting provision. By knowing the size and location of each mounting boss, the engineer will spend less time designing and fitting new components and will avoid having to continually update drawings to illustrate new mounting provisions.
