    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preparing a vanadium oxide electrode which provides an electrochemical device excellent in electric characteristic and stability of the electric characteristic, to provide an electrode obtained by the method of preparing a vanadium oxide electrode and an electrochemical device using the vanadium oxide electrode, and to provide a method of preparing an electrode which provides an electrochemical device particularly excellent in the stability in repeated use. SOLUTION: The method of preparing a vanadium oxide electrode includes step 1 of forming a film containing a silver vanadium oxide on a substrate, and step 2 of dipping the substrate with the film formed thereon in a solution containing a compound represented by general formula (1) to dissolve silver in the film. In general formula (1), X represents sulfur atom or oxygen atom, and at least one X in the compound is sulfur atom; n and m each represent an integer of 1 to 10, a represents an integer of 1 to 50; and R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 and R 6 each represent a substituent having no dissociative proton, in which one of them contains carbonyl, and each of them may be the same or different or may be coupled to form an annular structure. The part within [] represents a repeat unit, and when it is repeated, atoms represented by X may be the same or different.
