    • PURPOSE:To improve the effect of tooth-brushing by providing recesses and projections only at the tip portions of plural filaments that are planted at the head of handle of a toothbrush and form brush bristle, butting the filaments against every part of teeth at right angles. CONSTITUTION:Only the tip portion 3 of brush bristles 2 consisting of filaments planted at the head of handle 1 of a toothbrush is formed into a recessed and projecting state. For example, a grinding belt is butted against the tip portion 3 of the brush bristle 2 to form recesses and projections at a right angled to the handle axis and in parallel with the handle axis at part of or the whole perimeter of the tip portion 3, or projections are formed at the tip portion 3 of the brush bristle 2. As a result, the tip portion 3 of the brush bristle 2 butts against every part of teeth at right angles at all times regardless of how the handle 1 is held, and the surface of teeth and spaces between teeth are correctly cleaned.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the effective removal of the bacterial plaque even if the tips of brush hair are not always pressed perpendicularly to the teeth by using filaments having ruggedness on the surfaces as the brush hair. CONSTITUTION:The filaments 10 are formed to square, approximately star, starfish, hexagonal or other sectional shapes. The brush hair 14 intrudes into intra-tooth parts 19 when the brush hair 14 is pushed approximately perpendicularly to the tooth surface on which the teeth 18 line up. The brush hair 14 intruding into the intra-tooth parts come into contact with the adjacent surfaces A, B or C, D of the respective intra-tooth parts or the body parts E of the teeth. The body parts of the brush hair 14 slide the respective adjacent surfaces A to B when a head part 16 is vertically moved in this state. The ruggedness on the surfaces of the filaments and the square parts, etc., of the outer peripheries thereof act to scrape off the dental plaque of the adjacent surfaces and, therefore, the bacterial plaque is efficiently removed.

    • PURPOSE:To provide an interdental brush having no rupture at bent sections even when fine wires are used, no falling off of brush hairs, and improved durability. CONSTITUTION:A film material layer 2 made of thermoplastic resin having a low melting point is provided around a linear core material 1 made of a ultra-elastic alloy, many filament-like brush hairs are linearly protruded outward and planted on the film material layer 2, the film material layer at the base sections of the brush hairs 3 is fused and solidified to integrally fixing the brush hairs 3, and an interdental brush having a high bending fatigue characteristic can be manufactured. Even when fine wires having a good passing property between teeth are used, no rupture is generated by the repeated bending deformation in use. Since the brush hairs 3 are integrally fixed to the film material layer 2, a cleaning action can be satisfactorily performed, and the planting strength can be sharply improved.
