    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the output optical level of a spatial optical switch in a high resolution manner. SOLUTION: A controller 5 is provided with a deflection means 2 with which equal to or more than two deflection axes are provided and the deflection angles centered around these deflection axes are controlled to deflect an optical path from any one of input ports to any one of output ports among a plurality of input ports and a plurality of output ports. The controller 5 is also provided with an optical detecting means 6 which detects the output optical level from the output port and a control means 7 which controls the deflection angle centered around one of the deflection axes of the deflection means 2 and then the deflection angle centered around other deflection axis of the deflection means 2 is controlled so that the output optical level detected by the optical detecting means 6 is made into a desired optical output level.
