摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink for ink-jet recording that exhibits properties excellent in light fastness and storage stability by using a coloring material excellent especially in water resistance and further excellent in light fastness and compatibility with a resin as a coloring material for ink-jet recording, especially an excellent aqueous ink as an ink for ink-jet recording system that can form a high grade image free from bleeding and can give a recorded image having characteristics excellent in water resistance. SOLUTION: The aqueous ink for ink-jet recording comprises at least a water-insoluble coloring material, water and a resin as its main components and is in the form of an emulsion, wherein the coloring material is one represented at least by formula I in which especially X is an oxygen atom and R1 is represented by formula II in which R8 is -NR12R13.

The compound represented by formula I is used for sublimation transfer recording, vaporization type heat transfer recording, ink jet recording, etc., and can be used for a water-based ink or an oily ink for ball-point pens and further a coating material, etc.

SOLUTION: (A) 1,5-Dibenzoylaminoanthraquinone is hydrolyzed in (B) sulfuric acid, preferably 50-100wt.% sulfuric acid at 0-50 deg.C within 15hr. Furthermore, in the case of 98% sulfuric acid, the component B is used in an amount of about 5-40 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. component A and a material produced as a by-product when the objective compound is produced by using 1,5- diaminoanthraquinone as a raw material is preferably used as the component A and purity of the resultant product can preferably be improved by filtering the product after adding the component B.
