    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate poor fixation and defective paper conveyance due to bending of a support stay caused by loading, without increasing the number of parts.SOLUTION: The shape of a fixation belt 11 during rotation is restricted by a belt guide 12. A nip formation member 14 makes the fixation belt 11 come in contact with a pressure roller 13 in a prescribed area of a circumferential direction along the axial direction of the pressure roller 13 to form a nip. A support stay 15 supports the nip formation member 14 against a pressure direction by the pressure roller 13. The fixation belt 11 is heated from inside by a heater 16. The support stay 15 is configured by overlapping at least two kinds of metals having different linear expansion coefficients in a pressure direction, a high expansion side metal 151 and a low expansion side metal 152. The side closer to the pressure roller 13 is the high expansion side metal 151.

In the pressing area 41, the endless belt 11 and pressure rotor 21 conveys a recording medium P while sandwiching it between them. A pressing member 31 is fixed to a support member 51, and an endless belt 11 slides over the pressing member 31. A fixing area 42 is made narrower than the pressing area 41 formed by the pressing member 31, and an area where the pressure rotor 21 does not sandwich the endless belt 11 is located at the end of the pressing area 41. The rotating speed at which the endless belt 11 is rotated following the pressure rotor 21 at the end of the pressure area 41 is made lower than that in almost all areas other than the pressing area 41.
