摘要： A heater comprising: an outer tube having a first thermal expansion coefficient; an inner tube having a second thermal expansion coefficient that is less than the first thermal expansion coefficient, wherein the inner tube is disposed concentrically with the outer tube such that there is a space between the inner and outer tubes; a conductive powder disposed within the space between the inner and outer tubes; and two electrodes in electrical contact with the conductive powder such that when a potential is introduced between the electrodes, the conductive powder functions as a resistive heater whose resistance changes with temperature based on different degrees of thermal expansion of the inner and outer tubes.

摘要： A system for landing, comprising a vertical-take-off-and-landing (VTOL) unmanned air vehicle (UAV) having landing gear, wherein the landing gear is telescopic and comprises a sensor, and wherein the landing gear is compressed upon landing on a surface, and the compression causes a signal to be sent to a system that computes the slope of the ground surface using the length of the compressed landing gear and the attitude of the UAV. If the center of gravity falls within the support area, the legs are locked and the UAV power is turned off. If the center of gravity falls outside the support area, the UAV is forced to take off and find a safer landing spot.

摘要： A system includes a bottle, a first wire, a second wire, a current probe and an output line. The bottle holds a dielectric liquid therein. The first wire is disposed longitudinally on the bottle and generates a first oscillating electrical current in response to an electromagnetic wave, wherein the first oscillating electrical current thereby generates a corresponding first oscillating magnetic field. The second wire is disposed in parallel with the first wire on the bottle and generates a second oscillating electrical current in response to the electromagnetic wave, wherein the second oscillating electrical current thereby generating a corresponding second oscillating magnetic field. The current probe is arranged to surround the bottle such that the bottle is rotatable within the current probe or such that the current probe is rotatable around the bottle.

摘要： A DC voltage supply provides voltage. A time domain switched inertial capacitive sensor provides a thresholding variable capacitance based on the voltage. A second voltage supply provides a voltage, VDD. A logic inverter circuit has a logic inverter input and a logic inverter output, wherein the logic inverter circuit is supplied with VDD. A third voltage supply provides a second voltage, VCC. A time domain switched inertial capacitive sensor and the capacitor are arranged as a capacitive voltage divider between the DC voltage supply and the logic inverter circuit and so as to provide an input voltage Vin as an input signal to the logic inverter circuit. The logic inverter circuit outputs an output voltage, Vout, based on the input signal. The switch provides a bias voltage, Vbias, to the logic inverter circuit based on Vout such that the input signal is based on Vin and Vbias.
