摘要： A drainage-optimized additive composition for papermaking is disclosed. The composition comprises an aqueous media and a glyoxalated polyacrylamide (gPAM) resin having a weight average molecular weight (Mw) of at least about 5 MDa. The composition comprises from about 1.95 to about 2.45 wt. % of the gPAM resin. A method of preparing the composition is also disclosed, and comprises preparing a cationic acrylamide (cAM) prepolymer having at least one predetermined property, and selectively glyoxalating the cAM prepolymer by controlling the concentration of the cAM prepolymer in the aqueous media during glyoxalation in relation to the predetermined property. The method may be carried out in situ during a papermaking process (i.e., as an on-site method). A process of forming paper with the composition also disclosed, and comprises combining the composition with the aqueous suspension of cellulosic fibers, forming the cellulosic fibers into a sheet, and drying the sheet to produce a paper.

摘要： The disclosure provides a method for cleaning an implanted medical device. In one embodiment, the method includes providing a medical device including a membrane; wherein the membrane comprises a thermoresponsive hydrogel including N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm) or poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm), and a volume phase transition temperature (VPTT). The method also includes implanting the medical device into a target area; wherein the membrane temperature is maintained at substantially the same temperature as the target area; wherein temperature fluctuations within the target area that approach, meet and/or exceed the volume phase transition temperature induce deswelling or relative deswelling in the membrane and temperature fluctuations within the target area that are relatively lower and/or approach and/or fall below the volume phase transition temperature induce swelling or relative swelling in the membrane.

In certain embodiments, temperature therapy packs which utilize thermochromic agents integrated into solid, semi-solid, or liquid hydrogels. In preferred (but optional) embodiments, the thermochromic agents are integrated into the composition used as the temperature exchange material of the therapy pack. In certain other embodiments, methods of using the thermochromic integrated temperature exchange materials, or processes for manufacturing such thermochromic integrated temperature exchange materials and/or methods or processes for manufacturing or using thermal packs embodying such materials. In certain particularly preferred embodiments, novel polymer compositions and/or processes for making polymers, which improve product durability or longevity and/or which improve use cycles or usage times.
