    • A compact antenna system that provides an antenna capable of transmitting and/or receiving radio signals configured on a flexible substrate material supporting user control interface buttons. In an embodiment, an antenna may be formed on a user control interface button flex between the wire traces used to couple the user control interface buttons to a printed circuit board. In order to prevent the interference on the antenna that may be caused when current passes through the wire traces coupling the user control interface buttons to the printed circuit board, an RF choke (i.e., LC filter) circuit and bypass capacitors may be configured along each wire trace. In another embodiment, the wire trace coupling a user control interface button to the printed circuit board may be configured to serve the dual purposes of coupling the user control interface button to the printed circuit board; and functioning as an antenna capable of transmitting and/or receiving wireless radio signals.

    • A small electronic timepiece with an internal antenna can maintain high GPS reception performance and affords greater freedom developing different models. The timepiece has an outside case; a time display unit that displays time and that is disposed inside the outside case; a drive unit that drives the time display unit and that is disposed inside the outside case; and an antenna that is disposed around the drive unit inside the outside case, and includes an C-shaped or annular antenna element in contact with the dielectric base. The timepiece may include power supply nodes from which power is supplied to the antenna, one such node being disposed at one end of the C-shaped antenna element and the other being disposed at the other end of the C-shaped antenna element. The annular antenna element may be embedded in the dielectric base.

    • An electronic timepiece has; an annular antenna; and a time display unit. The antenna includes an annular dielectric; a conductive driven element that is disposed on the dielectric, is ring-shaped with a notch therein (C-shaped), and is fed with a specific potential; and a conductive parasitic element that is disposed on the dielectric with a gap to the driven element, and is an endless ring or a ring with a notch therein (C-shaped). A feed position to which a specific potential is fed is disposed to the driven element at one place. When the electronic timepiece is seen in plan view, the feed position is disposed in a range from approximately 8:00 to approximately 10:00 relative to the center (center pivot) of the electronic timepiece.
