    • A method and device for determining at least one set of matching attributes between a plurality of images is disclosed. Two dimensional images are projected to a three dimensional space then searched for matching attributes. Searching for corresponding attributes is much easier and computationally less intensive in the 3D space compared to a search in the 2D space. The method includes steps of projecting at least part of the images of said plurality to a 3-dimensional space resulting in a plurality of 3-D projected images (image1_3D, image2_3D), searching for at least one corresponding set of elements within the 3D projected images of the plurality of 3-D projected images, and calculating back said corresponding elements within the original images of the plurality and providing said corresponding elements within said original images as said at least one set of matched attributes.

    • A smart card associated with a subscription to a first telecommunication network and coupled with a communication is personalized by an application server. The server receives a request of subscription change having an identifier of a second telecommunication network; establishes a secured session with home location register of the second telecommunication network identified by the identifier and receives a first message having a second international identity and a second authentication key from the home location register; and then sends a second message having a personalization command, an admin code, the second international identity and the second authentication key to the communication device. The smart card is able to interpret the personalization command to delete the first international identity and the first authentication key and replace them by the second international identity and the second authentication key if the admin code is valid.

    • A network node, which is designed for switching of time-division multiplex signals; contains a number of line cards (LCI-LCn), a switch fabric (SF) interconnecting the line cards (LCI-LCn), and a control system (CS). The switching fabric (SF) is a cell based switch with one or more switch modules (SET-SEn) adapted to switch cells of a predefined cell format on the basis of addresses contained in cell headers of the cells. The line cards (LCI-LCn) have segmentation and reassembly devices (SARI-SARn) for segmenting input time-division multiplex signals into cells of the preformed cell format and adding address information to each cell and for reassembling cells received from said switch fabric (SF) into output time-division multiplex signals. The control system (CS) is connected to a switched port of the switch fabric (SF) and exchanges with the line cards (LCI-LCn) control and/or Operation, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) messages over the switch fabric (SF) using cells of the preformed cell format.

    • An exemplary technique is provided for planning a plurality of optical connections as a function of a plurality of traffic demand. In a routing step, a loopless network path is allocated to each traffic demand. Each traffic demand is allocated to a candidate optical connection or chain of candidate optical connections selected to carry the capacity of the traffic demand along the loopless network path allocated to the traffic demand. In an optimization step, a reduced set of candidate optical connections is defined by withdrawing the candidate optical connection to be withdrawn. A candidate optical connection or a chain of candidate optical connections is determined to be re-used among the reduced set of candidate optical connections. The traffic demand is re-allocated to the candidate optical connection or chain of candidate optical connections to be re-used.

    • A one-pass authentication mechanism and system for heterogeneous networks are provided. The mechanism comprises authenticating a user based on an authentication key and an authentication algorithm in response to a request of the user to register a first network, wherein the authentication key and the authentication algorithm are associated with a first user identity for the first network and a second user identity for a second network; and if the authentication is successful, then comparing the first user identity retrieved from an authentication database through the second user identity provided by the user to the first user identity provided by the user in the authentication, in response to a request of the user to register the second network, and setting up security associations between the user and the second network if the retrieved first user identity matches the first user identity provided by the user.
