摘要： Disclosed is a method for supporting a handover in a broadband wireless access communication system which includes a mobile subscriber station, a serving base station currently providing service to the mobile subscriber station, and a plurality of adjacent base stations different from the serving base station, in which each of the base stations includes cells using subchannel bands different from each other, the method including establishing a set of base stations which currently provide wireless channels for data transmission/reception to the mobile subscriber station; classifying, by each base station, entire subchannels into a plurality of sets of subchannels; and allocating each of the sets of subchannels obtained by the classification to a PUSC (Partial Usage of Subchannels) subchannel area of each sector, wherein, every base stations included in an active set select an equal number of PUSC subchannels from among a PUSC subchannel area allocated to each of the base stations and allocate the selected PUSC subchannels to the mobile subscriber station, and the mobile subscriber station receives a downlink signal transmitted through each of PUSC subchannel areas and performs a predetermined combining of all signals received from each of the BSs.

A method for constituting a frame for a relay service in a wireless communication system includes configuring Downlink and Uplink subframes for a Base Station (BS) to transmit and receive signals to and from a Mobile Station via one or more relay stations over one or more communication zones. Thus, the frames for the multihop relay service can be constituted with ease, the multihop relay service can be provided not to drive the relay service data into a particular part of the frame, and the service coverage of the MS can be extended.

摘要： Provided are an apparatus and method for negotiating a frame offset between a Base Station (BS) and a Relay Station (RS) in a wireless communication system using a multi-hop relay scheme. A communication method of a superordinate station includes, upon detecting an initial access of an relay station, determining an offset value between a frame number used in the superordinate station and a frame number to be used in the relay station; generating a message including RS frame offset information corresponding to the offset value; and transmitting the generated message to the relay station. Accordingly, since the base station and the relay station share the frame offset, the base station can transmit a specific broadcast message in advance to the relay station by considering the frame offset, and the relay station can transmit data, which has to be transmitted in synchronization with the base station at the same time point or at the same frame number, to a Mobile Station (MS) at an exact time point.

The method includes checking a channel state between a Mobile Station (MS) and each of at least one Relay Station (RS), selecting the relay mode for supporting a relay service using the determined channel state between the MA and each of the at least one RS, and providing the relay service to the MS using the selected relay mode. Thus, system throughput and outage performance can be enhanced by using the appropriate relay mode based on the MS distribution or the channel condition.

摘要： Apparatus and method for supporting a relay service in a multihop relay wireless communication system are provided. The method includes setting Tx/Rx mode switch region information of a Relay Station (RS). A signal is sent to a Mobile Station (MS) traveling in a service coverage during a first interval of a DownLink (DL) subframe according to resource allocation information. The mode switch region information and a signal are sent over a second interval of the DL subframe. Accordingly, the RS can communicate with a Base Station (BS) with accurate synchronization.
