    • There is disclosed a double density recording method for a constant angular velocity type optical disk in which a data information area for recording data information and a servo information area for recording servo control information are provided in recording tracks of the optical disk, pairs of wobble pits for tracking servo control being provided in a staggered form in the servo control area in such a manner that the center axes of the recording tracks are put between the respective pairs of wobble pits, the method being adapted to carry out a subtractive operation of reflected light signals from the respective wobble pits to generate a tracking error signal to thereby conduct a tracking servo control, and to record data information under such a tracking servo control, wherein the respective pair of wobble pits are provided in such a manner that they are shared as wobble pits of adjacent recording tracks, and the wobble pits are provided in a staggered form in a radial direction of the optical disk.

    • In an optical disk recording/reproducing apparatus, a spindle control device in which a vertical synchronizing mark is detected so as to generate a synchronizing mark detection signal. A time base reference signal is generated at the same time, that signal being delayed by a variable delay circuit so as to perform phase control on a spindle motor for rotating the optical disk in accordance with a phase difference of the synchronizing mark detection signal from the delayed time base reference signal. Accordingly, it is easy to adjust, electrically, the relative position on the time base between the vertical synchronizing mark detection timing and a composite video signal to be recorded, by adjusting suitably the amount of delay of the variable delay circuit, without having to adjust the vertical synchronizing mark detector positionally.

    • An electronic impedance device provides a variable impedance in, for example, a Dolby noise reduction system. The device includes an input terminal connected to a source of a signal voltage. A differential voltage-to-current converter circuit, having a relatively high input impedance, converts the input signal voltage into two differential output currents that are variable with the input signal voltage. A pair of p-n junction elements, such as diodes, are connected to the converter circuit via a current transfer circuit. The current transfer circuit transfers the differential output currents to the p-n junction elements. A differential current amplifier circuit is responsive to the voltage built up across the p-n junction elements. The differential current amplifier has an output terminal to produce an output current. A feedback line connects the output terminal of the amplifier circuit to the input terminal for permitting the output current of the amplifier circuit to be fed back to the input terminal of the device.
