    • The starter-use electromagnetic switch has an electrical contact interposed in a power supply line for supplying power from a battery to a starter motor, the main contact being turned on and off in interlock with energization of an electromagnet implemented by an excitation coil. The electromagnetic switch includes a connection fitting connected to the excitation coil at one end thereof and drawn outside through a resin cover of the electromagnetic switch at the other end thereof, and a terminal fitting electrically and mechanically connected to the other end of the connection fitting at one end thereof, the other end of the terminal fitting being branched into first and second terminal pieces. The first terminal piece serves as an excitation terminal supplied with power from the battery. The second terminal piece serves as a connection terminal connected to an excitation terminal of an external electromagnetic switch through a cable.

    • A relay has a driving device that includes a magnet portion, two electromagnets, a yoke portion fixed to the above elements, and a rocking armature. The magnet portion includes a ferrite permanent magnet polarized in a direction perpendicular to the yoke portion and a bearing surface facing way from the yoke portion. Each electromagnet includes an iron core fixed to the yoke portion and a coil wound thereon. The two iron cores are arranged at opposite sides of the magnet portion. The rocking armature includes two arms connected to each other with an included angle formed therebetween and a convex joint of the two arms. The convex joint abuts against the bearing surface and the rocking armature pivots about the convex joint between a first position and a second position in which the rocking armature contacts a respective one of the iron cores.

    • A relay with multiple coils includes a base which has two fixed contacts, a coil assembly which has a U-shaped armature, a U-shaped iron core, two tubular bobbins received between the U-shaped armature and the U-shaped iron core, two coils respectively wound around the tubular bobbins. A spring member is movable above the coil assembly. The spring member has two moving contacts corresponding to the fixed contacts. A coil spring is disposed between the spring member and the coil assembly. When each coil induces a magnetic field by supplying electric current, the coil spring is compressed such that the moving contacts connect with the fixed contacts; when no electric current is supplied, the coil spring provides the restoring force to draw the spring member backward. Therefore, the relay acts as a switch for adapting to open/close a circuit connected to the relay.

    • An electromagnetic switch includes an electromagnetic coil, a fixed core, a movable core, and a diode. The electromagnetic coil is configured to form an electromagnet when energized. The fixed core is arranged to be magnetized by the electromagnet. The movable core is arranged to be attracted by the magnetized fixed core to move in a movement direction toward the fixed core. The diode is electrically connected in parallel with the electromagnetic coil. The diode includes a main body and has a pair of leads respectively extending from a pair of ends of the main body which are opposite to each other in a lead arrangement direction of the diode. The lead arrangement direction of the diode is parallel to the movement direction of the movable contact.
