    • A control apparatus for a thyristor converter which supplies electric power to a load generating a changeable electromotive force, wherein, in response to a load current being changed from an intermittent load current mode to a continuous load current mode, an actual main circuit constant of the load is calculated on the basis of a pregiven main circuit constant of said load, a predetermined minimum value of a DC average motor current at which a compensation control angle is zero, a DC average load current and a set control angle at a time when the load current just changed from the intermittent load current mode to the continuous load current mode.The compensation control angle is obtained on the basis of the calculated actual main circuit constant and the DC average load current.The calculated compensation control angle is added to the set control angle to thereby apply the added angle to the thyristor converter as a firing control angle.

    • A motor is controlled by pulse signals applied to the gates of thyristors in a thyristor switching circuit. The speed of the motor is detected by a speed detector, and the instantaneous speed of the motor is calculated on the basis of the current detection speed obtained at the present time and the detected speed obtained at least at one prior point of time. The speed control signal for the motor is calculated on the basis of the deviation between the instantaneous speed and an output signal of a speed directive apparatus. In accordance with the speed control signal, the pulse signals applied to the gates of the thyristors are outputted from a gate pulse generator.

    • Disclosed is a DC motor drive circuit adapted to prevent thyristor commutation failure when a thyristor-controlled three-phase full-wave reversible bridge undergoes a transition in operating mode from a power inversion mode to a power rectification mode. The drive circuit includes a thyristor-controlled three-phase full-wave reversible bridge whose firing phase is controlled in accordance with a speed deviation between the actual speed of a DC motor and a command speed, polarity discrimination means for discriminating the polarity of the speed deviation, firing phase narrowing means operable in the power inversion mode to narrow the thyristor firing phase down to a minimum firing phase due to a reversal in the polarity of the speed deviation, detection means for detecting an intermittence in armature current, and blocking means for blocking firing of the three-phase thyristor-controlled inverter for a prescribed period of time when the intermittence of the armature current has been detected, the operation mode of the inverter being changed over from the power inversion mode to the power rectification mode after the lapse of said prescribed time period.
