摘要： A method of authenticating a user of a computing device is proposed, together with computing device on which the method is implemented. A plurality of objects is displayed on a display screen. The plurality of objects includes at least objects that make up a plurality of objects of the user's passcode. In response to a trigger signal an image of the user's face is captured while looking at one of the objects on the display screen. A determination of which object is in the direction of the user's gaze is made from the image and whether or not the gaze is on an object which is part of the passcode. A plurality of trigger signals may be generated to capture a plurality of images.

Factors related to optimization of arc coverage include electrode position, charge level, slag level and slag behaviour. More specifically, such indicators of whether arc coverage has been optimized may be used when determining a position for the electrode such that, to an extent possible, a stable arc cavity is maintained and an open arc condition is avoided. Conveniently, by avoiding open arc conditions, the internal linings of the furnace walls and roof may be protected from excessive wear and tear.

The redirection server detects a triggering event in a host system and in response to the triggering event continuously redirects data items from the host system to a wireless network. Each mobile data communication device receives data items from the wireless network and includes a device configuration stored in a memory location on the mobile data communication device. The device configuration of each mobile data communication device controls one or more functions of the mobile data communication device. The policy generation system receives a policy setting from a user interface and stores the policy setting in a user information record associated with a mobile data communication device. The redirection server detects the policy setting in the user information record and in response to detecting the policy setting transmits the policy setting over the wireless network to the mobile data communication device associated with the user information record. The mobile data communication device automatically modifies the device configuration to include the policy setting. Methods of controlling a configuration setting in mobile data communication devices are also disclosed.

摘要： A LIDAR scanning system. The LIDAR system comprises a laser configured to transmit laser light. An optical switch is optically coupled to the laser to receive laser light via an input port. Each of the plurality of output ports is oriented in a different direction. A detector subsystem is positioned to receive reflected laser light. A processor is coupled to the detector subsystem. The processor is configured to receive data signals from the detector subsystem. The processor is also configured to determine a distance from the LIDAR scanning system to one or more objects in an environment of the LIDAR scanning system based on a time between a transmission of beams of laser light and a reception of a reflection of the beams of laser light.
