The video encoding method includes performing MCTF on input frames up to a first temporal level, performing hierarchical closed-loop coding on frames up to a second temporal level higher than the first temporal level, the frames being generated by the MCTF, performing spatial transform on frames generated using the hierarchical closed-loop coding to create transform coefficients, and quantizing the transform coefficients.

摘要： A method and apparatus are provided for improving compression efficiency or picture quality by selecting a wavelet transform technique suitable to input video/image scene characteristics in video/image compression. The video encoder includes a temporal transform module that removes temporal redundancy of an input frame and generates a residual frame, a selection module that selects an appropriate wavelet filter among a plurality of wavelet filters having different taps according to a spatial correlation of the residual frame, a wavelet transform module that generates wavelet coefficients by performing wavelet transform on the residual frame using the selected wavelet filter, and a quantization module that quantizes the wavelet coefficients.

An apparatus for adapting a bitrate of a coded scalable bit-stream based on multi-layers to a variable network environment, comprising a bit-stream parsing unit to parse an input bit-stream, a pre-decoding condition determining unit to determine a target transmission bitrate according to the variable network environment, a pre-decoding unit to skip at least one frame among the frames included in the parsed bit-stream according to the determined target transmission bitrate, and a bit-stream transmission unit to transmit to a client device the bit-stream that has been restructured due to frame skipping.

The method includes obtaining a first bit-rate for a boundary between the lower layer bitstream and the upper layer bitstream and a second bit-rate for a boundary between motion information and texture information of the upper layer bitstream from the input hybrid bitstream, determining the target bit-rate according to variable network circumstances, and when the target bit-rate is between the first and second bit-rates, skipping the motion information of the upper layer bitstream and truncating all bits of the texture information of the upper layer bitstream from the tail, except bits corresponding to the difference between the target bit-rate and the first bit-rate.

摘要： A method of adaptively inserting a key frame according to video content to allow a user to easily access a desired scene. A video encoder includes a coding mode determination unit receiving a temporal residual frame with respect to an original frame, determining whether the original frame has a scene change by comparing the temporal residual frame with a predetermined reference, determining to encode the temporal residual frame when it is determined that the original frame does not have the scene change, and determining to encode the original frame when it is determined that the original frame has the scene change, and a spatial transformer performing spatial transform on either of the temporal residual frame and the original frame according to the determination of the coding mode determination unit and obtaining a transform coefficient. A keyframe is inserted according to access to a scene based on the content of an image, so that usability of a function allowing access to a random image frame is increased.
