    • A rotary vane valve having a cylindrical housing with a pair of opposed end bells and an interior axial shaft. Opposed inlet and outlet openings on the side of the cylindrical housing allow transverse fluid flow through the housing and radial vanes project from the axial shaft to facilitate the transfer of fluid from the inlet at one pressure to the outlet at a different pressure. A pair of spaced shroud structures are fixed to the shaft at the ends of the vanes to generally separate the interior of the cylindrical housing from the end bells. These shroud structures are spaced from the cylindrical housing at their outer peripheral edges, but an annular throttle plate is spaced axially outwardly at a close distance from these shrouds and adjacent at its outer edge to the cylindrical housing to increase the velocity of purge gas flowing inwardly between the cylindrical housing and the outer peripheral edge of the shroud so that the escape of gas from the interior of the cylindrical housing is effectively prevented.

    • In hybrid networks, there are different schemes to identify traffic. ATM networks identify traffic on two levels. The present invention provides a method and apparatus of identifying traffic in a hybrid network on two or more levels. The method comprises mapping, at each level, the identifiers for identifying traffic in one network to identifiers for identifying traffic in an other network. The apparatus comprises an input module for receiving identifiers for identifying traffic on two or more levels for one of the networks; a mapping module for creating a map which for each level of identifier, maps the identifiers received to identifiers for another network.

    • The invention is directed to an adaptor device suitable for use with a measuring apparatus to determine the centrality to the centerline of a Woodruff keyway in a shaft. The adaptor allows the measuring apparatus to rest on the top surface or outside diameter of the shaft so that the measuring apparatus can be used to measure the centrality of the side walls to the centerline of the keyway. Accordingly, the measuring apparatus can operate without reference to the bottom of the keyway due to the use of the adaptor of the present invention which is connected to the measuring apparatus. The adaptor can be structured so that it is usable with a measuring apparatus to measure keyways of varying sizes in shafts of varying sizes.
