    • A zoom lens barrel includes a rotary feed cylinder which is moved in an optical axis direction while being rotated; a linear movement cylinder which is provided within the rotary feed cylinder; and a connecting structure for connecting the linear movement cylinder to the rotary feed cylinder. The connecting structure includes at least two circumferential grooves centered about the optical axis, provided on the inner peripheral surface of the rotary feed cylinder or the outer peripheral surface of the linear movement cylinder, at different positions in the optical axis direction; and at least two radially extending engagement pawls which correspond to the at least two circumferential grooves, the engagement pawls being engaged in the circumferential grooves so as to slide in the circumferential direction and so as not to relatively move in the optical axis direction.

    • An image pickup apparatus of the present invention includes: a fixed frame; a zoom lens holding frame; a focus lens holding frame; a focus driving unit and a zoom driving unit; an image pickup device; a base plate that is coupled to the fixed frame and displaceably supports the image pickup device; an X driving unit that drives the image pickup device in an X direction; and a Y driving unit that drives the image pickup device in a Y direction, wherein the focus driving unit is placed in an upper left portion of the fixed frame, the zoom driving unit is placed in a right side portion, and further the Y driving unit is placed in an upper right corner of the base plate and the X driving unit is placed in a lower right corner.

    • A light intercepting member driving mechanism includes light intercepting members which are each rotatable about a rotational axis parallel with an optical axis to open and close a photographing aperture; a drive ring which engages with the light intercepting member to open and close the light intercepting member in accordance with the angular displacement of the drive ring in forward and reverse directions about a rotational axis coincident with the optical axis; a motor which rotates the drive ring in the forward and reverse directions; a position indication portion provided on the drive ring to indicate the angular position of the drive ring; and a stationary detector which detects a passing of the position indication portion when the drive ring is rotated. The opening state of the light intercepting members is detected by the stationary detector and the position indication portion.
