    • The present disclosure relates to a fiber optic connector for use with a fiber optic adapter. The fiber optic connector includes a connector housing having an end defining a plug portion. A ferrule assembly is mounted at least partially within the connector housing. The ferrule assembly includes a ferrule located at the plug portion of the connector housing. A sealing member is mounted about an exterior of the connector housing for providing a seal between the connector housing and the adapter. The fiber optic connector further includes first and second separate retaining mechanism for retaining the fiber optic connector within the fiber optic adapter.

    • A method for calculating delay in a distributed antenna system includes sending a ping initiation message from a remote node to a host node in a distributed antenna system. The ping initiation message uniquely identifies a first communication port of the remote node to the host node with a unique identification. The method also includes receiving a ping reply message at the remote node. The ping reply message corresponds to the ping initiation message and also uniquely identifies the first communication port of the remote node with the unique identification. The method also includes determining, at the remote node, whether the ping reply message corresponds to the first communication port of the remote node based on the unique identification. The method also includes, when the ping reply message corresponds to the first communication port of the remote node, calculating the round-trip time delay between sending the ping initiation message and receiving the ping reply message at the remote node.

    • A modular wireless communications platform is provided. The modular wireless communications platform has a modular host unit and a modular remote unit in communication with the modular host unit. The modular host unit has a serial radio frequency communicator configured to convert serial digital data into RF sampled data and configured to convert RF sampled data into serial digital data. The modular host unit also has an interface coupled to the serial radio frequency communicator and configured to allow transfer of the RF sampled data from the serial radio frequency communicator to a digital to analog radio frequency transceiver module.     • A spool system for a telecommunications cable. The spool system winds-up and pays-out the cable without accumulating twist in the cable. The spool system can also pay out a distal end of the cable and mount a proximal end of the cable. Because no twist is accumulated in the cable, the first end and/or the second end of the cable can remain connected while the spool system is winding-up or paying-out. The spool system includes a base, a cable unwrapper, and a hub. The cable unwrapper and the hub rotate in opposite directions from each other. A first cable wrapping area is provided on the base and a second cable wrapping area is provided on the hub.

    • One embodiment is directed to a system comprising a first unit and remotely located second units. The first unit comprises a transport medium interface to produce a common transport signal from first and second wireless service provider signals and to communicate the common transport signal on a common transport medium. Each second unit comprises first and second equipment associated with first and second wireless service providers, respectively. The first and second equipment in each second unit produces a respective first and second wireless service signal to be radiated from at least one antenna associated with that second unit. The system further comprises a common network management system configured to: receive first and second control messages from first and second wireless service provider network management systems, respectively, and forward the first and second control messages to the first and second equipment, respectively, in the second units using the common transport medium.
