摘要： A menu board is provided which utilizes members carrying interchangeable numbers, letters or other characters, and possesses special features which render the menu board highly legible. The menu board is provided with window-like openings and means for replaceably mounting the interchangeable character members behind the board openings. The character members include appendages selectively engageable with end stops provided on the board, or with slots provided on the board for positioning and locking the members in place. In one embodiment, the characters are each of a selected length and are overlaid one upon the other within the board openings, but so that the characters themselves are not overlain as viewed from the front of the menu board. Alignment means is provided for controlling the registration of the characters with respect to one another within the windows, and locking means is provided for securing each group of character members in place. In another embodiment, a plurality of slots are spaced along the length of a given board window, the slots being engageable by the appendages carried by the character members to secure the menu information at any location desired within the window. In yet another embodiment, the character members are placed in end-to-end relationship and are separately mounted in the board window via the slots and appendages.

摘要： Letters for use on a marquee are constructed with a tray-like member having a front panel cut through with an opening in the form of desired indicia. The tray includes a continuous integral rim for containing a translucent flexible color panel, providing color for the indicia. A lip is formed integrally coextensive with a side wall portion of the rim and extends laterally for overlap with the opposite side wall of an adjacent letter of like construction. Brackets connected to the side walls project rearwardly to secure the letter to the marquee and on the side opposite the overlap lip are spaced inwardly to accomodate the overlap lip of an adjacent letter. For particular indicia, a patch of opaque material of the same color as the front panel can be glued to the front surface of the color panel. In one embodiment, elongate frame members are provided coextensive with major length sections of the rim whereby the color panel may be retained by sliding between the frame members and the front panel. In another embodiment, the color panel is simply secured by adhesive to the front panel.

摘要： The present invention relates generally to improvements in filing tray structures, and more particularly to a novel tray device adapted for use in a fanning magnetic filing system. One embodiment of the invention as disclosed herein includes a tray structure wherein the bottom and sidewall sections are integral as well as non-magnetic. Endwall sections are interlockingly secured in a novel manner to the front and rear extremities of said sidewalls. An auxiliary index card or data sheet accommodating tray section having opposed upwardly flaring wall portions is located within the tray device. These flaring wall portions limit the extent to which the index cards or sheets may be tilted toward the front and rear of the tray device. The index cards have magnetic portions which cooperate with elongate magnets associated with the upright sidewall sections to effect fanning of the cards or data sheets.

The letters carry horizontal tongues on their upper and lower edges which fit into grooves locking the letters therein. The framework of the changeable sign is mounted for vertical movement so that it may be lowered to the ground for changing the letters. End caps lock the letters in their groove support to prevent pilferage. Moveable guide poles are used to guide the framework as it is moved vertically to prevent damage to the sign and injury to the operator. Counter weights are used to support the weight of the sign through a system of pulleys so that the sign can be easily moved up and down as required.
