摘要： A system and method that identify a location and/or magnitude of a ground fault in a circuit having a bus that connects battery strings with loads and a ground reference between the loads are provided. Potential of the bus is shifted relative to a ground reference in a first direction. A first impedance in the bus between the battery strings and the ground reference is determined, and the bus is shifted relative to the ground reference in a second direction. A second impedance in the bus between the battery strings and the ground reference is determined. A location and/or severity of a ground fault is determined based on a relationship between the first impedance and the second impedance.

Devices may further include a zero cross detection circuit operable to generate an interrupt at each of a plurality of zero crossings for a microprocessor, and determine whether to open the one or more contactors of the AC contactor in a predetermined optimum interval calculated with respect to the zero crossing points.

摘要： A circuit is protected from sudden potential fluctuations that occur in a power ground. An in-vehicle protection apparatus includes a first Zener diode portion, a second Zener diode portion, a diode portion, and an intermediate conductive path. A voltage based on a power source is applied to the anode side of the diode portion. The intermediate conductive path is provided with a branch portion at one end, and forms a path between the cathode of the diode portion and the branch portion. The cathode of the first Zener diode portion is electrically connected to the branch portion and the anode of the first Zener diode portion is electrically connected to a power ground line. The cathode of the second Zener diode portion is electrically connected to the branch portion and the anode of the second Zener diode portion is electrically connected to a signal ground line.

摘要： A circuit interrupting device includes an input conductor for electrically connecting to an external power supply, a load conductor for electrically connecting to a downstream load, a face conductor for electrically connecting to an external load, and a brush conductor in electrical communication with the input conductor and movable between a closed position and an open position. The brush conductor includes a second portion offset from a first portion such that a first terminal and a second terminal are positioned on separate planes. When the brush conductor is in the closed position, the first terminal contacts the load terminal and the second terminal contacts the face terminal to provide electrical communication between the input conductor, the load conductor, and the face conductor. When the brush conductor is in the open position, the first terminal is spaced apart from the load terminal and the second terminal is spaced apart from the face terminal.

摘要： Detection of, and protection against faults within a restricted earth fault (REF) zone of a transformer or a generator is disclosed herein. Security of the REF protection element uses comparison of a negative-sequence reference quantity. The REF condition is only detected when there is sufficient ground involvement and a fault in the reverse detection has not been detected. Dependability of the REF protection element in low-impedance grounded systems is improved by ensuring that the element operates when a zero-sequence reference quantity and a neutral operate quantity are orthogonal to each other. The REF protection element further determines an open CT condition and blocks detection of an REF fault upon determination of the open CT condition. A tripping subsystem may issue a trip command based upon detection of the REF condition.

The leakage current measuring device includes a leakage current sensor for measuring a leakage current IL flowing along the grounding path, the leakage current IL being indicative of the electrical connection status of the disconnector device. The electrical connection status is one of an activated and an inactivated status of the disconnector device.
