    • A restaurant customer-survey system and device, which reduces employee fraud when a customer-satisfaction survey embedded in the device is conducted. The survey may be implemented in a pager, tip tray, or other computing device that includes an internally mounted camera that covertly takes a photograph of the survey participant. The photograph is date/time stamped and associated with a table number so that the waiter for the table can be identified. The survey results together with the associated photograph are uploaded to a management database. The restaurant manager can review the photographs to ensure that employees are not fraudulently conducting the surveys rather than customers. The system also enables the customer to interface with the restaurant's point-of-sale (POS) system to retrieve the customer's current bill or wirelessly make a payment from the table.

    • A structure and adaptive apparatus for online education learning through trusted mass collaboration. An education server is communicatively coupled to one or more computing devices over a network to provide an online education service. The online education service provides a knowledge structure of K-Courses, K-Lessons, and K-Bits. K-Courses are comprised of more than one K-Lesson. K-Lessons are comprised of more than one K-Bit. Each K-Bit is associated with a plurality of alternative K-Bits to be used as parallel views of the same topic as the associated K-Bit to support student-centric learning. When a student encounters a K-Bit that the student does not understand, one or more alternative K-Bits used as parallel views of the same topic as the associated K-Bit are presented to the student until the student is able to master the topic of the associated K-Bit. The alternative K-Bits used as parallel views of the same topic as the associated K-Bit are sorted based on the student's learning style using a combination of highly adaptive processes.

    • An educational workbook for very young children of preschool and kindergarten age, as well as children who are somewhat older but do not have developed fine motor skills, which extends the advantages of U.S. Pat. No. 6,402,522 having a hand-held booklet containing a series of problems with color-coded selectable answers and flat answer card having movable colored clips and compatible to the booklet. The answer card is typically enclosed in the booklet and can serve as a bookmark. Children record their answers by placing the selected colored clips into the corresponding positions on the answer card. Children check their own work by comparing site-by-site the colors of the clips on their answer with the colors of the child-friendly images on the corresponding answer key. No pencil is used, answer keys are easily readable, and exercises can be repeated many times since there is no trace of earlier responses. Additionally, students' answer cards and answer key card may be stacked together and create a color display of class or group understanding encouraging group cooperation and teamwork.

    • Dynamic systems and methods for gathering/tracking data, automatically adapting to an individual's pace of learning, selectively determining the type and difficulty of content provided to an individual, selectively providing an exposure frequency for the content, and/or enabling rapid design modifications within the educational environment. Educational content is dynamically designed/developed and customizably presented to an individual learner. An analysis is performed on the data to optimize learning. Modifications are selectively or automatically made to the educational content. The process of designing, implementing, analyzing, and selectively modifying creates a cycle that optimizes the learning process and adapts to groups and individual learners with the goal of improving learning outcomes and efficiency. Furthermore, the educational content is dynamically provided to the learner on an iterative basis according to the need of that learner in the learning process.
