摘要： In a broadband wireless communication system, a spread spectrum signal is intentionally overlapped with an OFDM signal, in a time domain, a frequency domain, or both. The OFDM signal, which inherently has a high spectral efficiency, is used for carrying broadband data or control information. The spread spectrum signal, which is designed to have a high spread gain for overcoming severe interference, is used for facilitating system functions such as initial random access, channel probing, or short messaging. Methods and techniques are devised to ensure that the mutual interference between the overlapped signals is minimized to have insignificant impact on either signal and that both signals are detectable with expected performance by a receiver.

摘要： Coded antenna arrays and associated methods, apparatus and systems are disclosed. Signals transmitted by a client device are received at a plurality of antennas or antenna elements in an antenna array. The received signals are coded using codes such as orthogonal codes and pseudorandom number sequences under which the codes are selected to enable extraction of individual received signals. The coded signals are then combined to form a combined coded waveform that is processed using shared receiver circuitry. The shared receiver circuitry is configured to extract the signals received at each antenna using the codes used to code the received signals. Use of multiple client devices is also supported, with the receiver circuitry further configured to filter out signals received from individual client systems and calculate the phase and magnitude of the signals as received at each antenna. The signal phase and magnitude may be used for wireless transmission of power to clients by a wireless power transmission system.

摘要： The gains with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) for uplink data transmissions can be high when chosen codes are orthogonal. However, when codes are non-orthogonal, the gains can be low. NOMA can be used when there is more than one mobile device using the same resources. Since orthogonal codes can not be possible for every length, codes which have low cross-correlation properties can be used. However, when there are a large number of mobile devices using the same resources, the cross-correlation between the codes can cause interference to the mobile devices. Reducing the gains of a NOMA system can reduce the overall throughput. Thus, transmitting data on the same resources in a NOMA can occur in spite of the interference to the UEs transmitting data on the same resources. Therefore, a non-orthogonal multiple access design for a 5G network can mitigate interference.

摘要： The present disclosure includes wireless communication systems with code-division multiple access with interference avoidance (CDMA-IA). In one embodiment, the wireless communication system includes a plurality of transmitters and a plurality of receivers. At least one transmitter of the plurality of transmitters is configured to detect unoccupied segments of spectrum occupancy of interference at one of the plurality of receivers, and spread power of a transmitted signal non-uniformly across a channel bandwidth that is much wider than an information bandwidth of the transmitted signal using a plurality of non-contiguous spectral segments that correspond to the unoccupied segments of the spectrum occupancy of the interference at the one of the plurality of receivers. At least one receiver of the plurality of receivers is configured to perform a demodulation process by coherently integrating the power of the transmitted signal over the plurality of non-contiguous spectral segments.
