    • Systems, apparatus, and methods to track end-user content viewing and navigation in a distributed computing environment are described. In one aspect, a document for communication to a data warehouse is generated during transcoding of Web content. The document includes characteristics of Web content interface pages and links. The characteristics identify the links within scope of respective ones of the interface pages. Identifiers (IDs) in the document map the characteristics to specific ones of the interface pages and links. Transcoded source content representing the Web content is communicated to a client. Responsive to end-user presentation and navigation of the transcoded source content, the client records corresponding ones of the IDs to a log for subsequent uploading to the data warehouse. The data warehouse maps particular ones of the characteristics to corresponding log recorded ID(s) to identify specific ones of the interface pages and the links of interest to the end-user.

    • A television program recommender is disclosed that automatically identifies changes in viewing preferences. Once changing viewing preferences are identified, the disclosed television programming recommender can (i) adapt the generated television program recommendations to such changes in viewing preferences, or (ii) more efficiently manage the storage of the viewing history. For cyclical or periodic changes in viewing preferences, the television programming recommender generates television program recommendations using a sub-set of the viewing history from a corresponding earlier time period. Likewise, for true or permanent changes in viewing preferences, the television programming recommender optionally generates television program recommendations using the most recent sub-set of the viewing history, which most likely reflects the current viewing preferences. In a further variation, program recommendations can be generated using a combination, such as the union or intersection, of recommendations based on viewing histories from two different periods of time. The television programming recommender can confirm that viewing preferences have not changed significantly over time, and thereafter delete portions of the viewing history without loss of any performance in the generated recommendations.

A maximum allowable correction duration and a maximum allowable vision-derived displacement are established for correction of a position of a vehicle. A location quality estimator estimates location quality data for the corresponding collected location data during an evaluation time window. A vision module estimates vision quality data for the corresponding collected vision data during the evaluation time window. A selector selects the application of location data or vision data based on the quality data and at least one of the maximum allowable correction duration and the maximum allowable vision-derived displacement for the evaluation time window or for an application interval trailing the evaluation time window.
