Cell-specific symbol-level cyclic shift hopping is applied to data single-carrier frequency division multiplexing symbols of the acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement. A discrete Fourier transform is applied to the data single-carrier frequency division multiplexing symbols. Cell-specific symbol-level phase hopping is applied to the data single-carrier frequency division multiplexing symbols. The data single-carrier frequency division multiplexing symbols are transmitted in a slot.

The eNB further sends Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request Acknowledgement/Negative Acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) information based on the configuration parameters.
