    • An image forming apparatus including a photoconductive drum, a charging roller which is held in pressured contact with the photoconductive drum, and a holder which holds a spreading blade having a free or unsupported end which is held in contact with the charging roller to spread toner and other particles which adhere to the surface of the charging roller. Preferably, there is a thin flexible film between the holder and the spreading blade. The spreading blade is held by the holder such that when the charging roller rotates, a frictional force pulls the spreading blade relative to the holder. This frictional force imposes a rotational moment on the spreading blade which reduces the force of the spreading blade against the charging roller when the charging roller rotates. In order to extend the life of the spreading blade and to achieve a uniform distribution of the particles on the charge roller, the spreading blade may be moved in a reciprocating motion along a plane tangential to the surface of the roller and/or along the length of the roller. The spreading blade spreads the toner and other particles which adhere to the surface of the charging roller into a thin uniform layer so that the charging roller uniformly charges the photoconductive drum.

    • Provided is a switched capacitor amplifier capable of outputting a stable output voltage. The switched capacitor amplifier is capable of operating so as to eliminate a charge/discharge time difference between an input capacitor (18) and an output capacitor (19). Accordingly, in a shift from a hold state to a sample state, for example, even if one terminal voltage (V2) of the output capacitor (19) abruptly increases to an output voltage (VOUT), another terminal voltage (Vs) of the output capacitor (19) does not increase abruptly. In other words, an input voltage to an internal amplifier (11) does not increase abruptly. Therefore, an output voltage of the internal amplifier (11) becomes stable and accordingly the output voltage (VOUT) becomes stable as well.

    • Provided is a photodetection device which is small in size and has excellent sensitivity. A photodetection device puts cathode terminals of photodiodes having different spectral characteristics into an open end state, and detects light intensity of a desired wavelength region according to a difference in electric charges that have been stored in those photodiodes in a given period of time. The photodiodes employ a system of storing electric charges, and hence even if a photocurrent is small, the photocurrent may be stored to obtain the electric charges required for detection, and the downsizing and high detection performance of a semiconductor device that forms the photodiodes may be achieved. Further, a wide dynamic range may be realized with an electric charge storage time being variable according to the light intensity, to intermittently drive an element required for difference detection at the time of difference detection so as to suppress electric power consumption, or to average the output so as to reduce flicker.
