    • The present disclosure provides a wildlife guard for electrical power equipment including a disc having a central opening for fitting onto the equipment. The disc includes an electrically insulating material with a conductive filler material in quantity sufficient for the disc to maintain an electrostatic charge. The disc has an insertion slot extending from an outer portion to the central opening for movement of the disc onto the equipment. The present disclosure also provides a wildlife guard for an electrical insulator bushing having an electrical conductor extending outwardly therefrom. The wildlife guard includes an electrically nonconductive cover for covering at least a portion of the electrical conductor, the cover being adapted to mount upon the bushing and a conductive panel attached to the cover.

    • A mast clamp assembly including a strap, a drop wire clamp, and a hook. The ribbon-like strap forms a loop which engages a utility pole or mast. The drop wire clamp includes a clamp for clamping to the drop wire and a loop which engages the hook. The hook includes a back wall and first and second side walls. The loop of the drop wire is received in loop mounting slots in the side walls and engages a protrusion on each side wall. Each side wall also has a strap mounting opening having a triangular-shaped lower portion and a rectangular-shaped upper portion. The hook is mounted on the strap by inserting the strap, bottom edge first, through a slot in the back wall into the lower portion of the strap mounting openings and rotating the hook around the strap such that the upper edge of the strap rotates into the upper portion of the strap mounting opening and the strap engages the hook back wall.

    • This invention pertains to a device for the automatic installation of aerial beacons on a cable. The device has magazines for the distribution of half-beacons (12a, 12b) and means (16) for putting into place and assembly on the cable of half-beacons (14) respectively distributed by the magazines in order to form the beacons. Accordingly to the invention, the device incorporates attachment means (20, 22) for suspending on the cable (18) and for moving along a cable in a movement direction (X), the means (16) for putting into place and assembly being placed on the device so as to install the beacons behind the attachment means with respect to the movement direction.

    • An apparatus and method for increasing electrical clearances on power lines to increase the conductor to structure clearance and insulation length and the conductor clearance to ground and other underlying objects. The apparatus may be applied live-line and can be installed without significantly modifying existing support structure. A suspension insulator string extends vertically from the tower and a yoke plate is connected to the bottom thereof. First and second insulator strings extend outwardly in opposite directions from the yoke plate with a dead end strain clamp attached to an outer end of each insulator string. The dead end strain clamp of each insulator string, dead ends the electrical conductor forming an upgrade loop therebetween. A post insulator is rigidly mounted on the yoke plate and extends from the yoke plate to the conductor upgrade loop intermediate to the outer ends of the first and second insulator strings. The apparatus is installed by either re-using an existing vertical suspension insulator string from the support structure or replacing it with a similar insulator string, and mounting the apparatus of the present invention on this vertical insulator string. The conductor is tightened on one side of the tower and the dead end strain clamp of the first insulator string is clamped to the conductor, and the conductor is then tightened on the other side of the tower and the dead end strain clamp of the second insulator string is clamped to the conductor forming the conductor upgrade loop therebetween.

Switch and bus insulators are primary points of contact when a small animal crawls from a grounded, supporting structure across an insulator to an energized conductor. The present invention provides for a barrier on switch and bus insulators which prevents animals from coming into contact with a grounded structure and an energized conductor simultaneously, thus eliminating a ground path from the energized conductor through the animal to the grounded structure.
