摘要： Minimally invasive introducers and methods that can be used for rotationally securing devices within the human body. Introducers can include a distal element for releasably engaging a lead head controllable from a proximal control located outside of the body. An inner stem can extend between a proximal portion and a distal portion, and be pivotally and rotatably coupled to the distal lead engagement mechanism. An outer tube can be rotatably disposed over the inner stem and be flexibly coupled over the pivot to rotationally drive the distal element. A helical epicardial-myocardial lead electrode can be secured and oriented straight ahead and introduced through a port or small incision with the introducer in a straight configuration. The introducer can then be bent and rotated to screw the helical electrode into the heart.

摘要： Method and apparatus for processing transmitted data. A sampling circuit preferably performs lossy sampling of a continuous signal to provide a corresponding sequence of discrete samples at a sampling rate less than a Nyquist rate of the continuous signal. A processing circuit reconstructs an informational content of the continuous signal from the discrete samples, and operates to periodically insert additional samples into the sequence, which preferably increases an effective rate of said sampling to match or exceed the Nyquist rate. Preferably, the lossy discrete samples are temporarily stored in a memory space prior to reconstruction by the processing circuit. The sampling circuit preferably comprises an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) of an analog front end (AFE). The processing circuit preferably comprises a digital back end (DBE) employing partial-response, maximum-likelihood (PRML) detection. The additional samples are preferably provided by an iterative timing recovery (ITR) block of the DBE.

摘要： A signal processing system includes a receiver for receiving an analog signal. The system also includes an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) coupled to the receiver. At each of a series of time intervals, the ADC outputs sequential digital codes. Each digital code corresponds to a sampled analog value of the received analog signal at each sample interval. The system further includes a memory in which the sequential digital codes may be stored, and a processing circuit for converting the digital codes into a series of binary data bits. The conversion may be performed in a different sequence than the sequence in which the digital codes are stored in the memory.

摘要： A telephone answering system for providing textual messages and voice messages generated by telephone answering of telephones of persons having telephone calls answered by the system. A system memory stores textural and voice messages. A voice message recording system controls recording of voice messages of answered telephone calls of persons having telephone calls answered by the telephone answering system. A textual message recording system controls recording of textual messages provided by an operator who answers telephone calls made to persons having their telephones answered by the telephone answering system. A programmed computer program implements the voice message recording system and the textual message recording system by execution of a program. The computer decodes a telephone number of each telephone call answered by the telephone answering system, determines a program service option to be performed in answering each telephone call based upon the decoded telephone number, causes the voice message recording system to record a voice message in the system memory if the service option is specified to be answering telephone calls by the voice message recording system, initiates ringing of an operator to cause the operator to answer the telephone call and causes the textual message recording system to record textual messages in the system memory if the service option is specified to use an operator to record textual messages. The recording systems function to permit selective playback of individual recorded messages by the placing of a telephone call to the answering system.
