    • Described here is an integrated control system for crash-rated barriers and bollards, barrier products and software which will improve the operational safety characteristics of the barriers and ancillary equipment; identify potential security breaches of the barrier operating system, and predict potential failures in the system. Crash rated barriers and bollards are used to prevent a vehicle attempting to penetrate the secure perimeter of a facility with malicious intent. Installation and operation of crash rated barriers is utilized to protect both government, commercial and private facilities against such threats. Simultaneously it allows ingress and egress to the facility resulting in the end user having to determine tradeoffs for security versus safety. The barriers described here are designed and certified to withstand attacks from heavy vehicles traveling at high rates of speed. The system, products and software will allow for reporting of potential failures within the system while simultaneously using configurable control and activation of the equipment to override such failures and allow for safe and secure operation of the barrier system until maintenance or repairs can be performed.

    • A barrier is formed from at least one elongate rail and at least one vertical upright member. The elongate rail includes a web and a pair of opposed side walls which extend from the web to define a rail channel. Each upright member includes an aperture formed therein. In one implementation, a pin extending from a clip is inserted into the aperture, and the upright member, with the clip, is at least partially situated within the rail channel, wherein the clip is welded to an inside surface of the rail channel. In another implementation, a pin is inserted through the aperture, and the upright member, with the pin, is at least partially situated within the rail channel, wherein opposed ends of the pin are welded to an inside surface of the opposed side walls of the rail channel. The pin and aperture form a pivot point allowing the upright member to rotate with respect to the elongate rail. In a fence implementation, this allows the barrier to be racked in order to follow undulating terrain.

    • The instant invention describes a multi-purpose rotational barrier unit and a system of interconnected barrier units which function in multiple environments, including aquatic environments and land-based environments. The multi-purpose rotational barrier unit has a design configuration which provides hydro-dynamic stability in strong currents and high waves and resists roll over. The multi-purpose rotational barrier unit comprises a plurality of equally sized walls interconnected to form side walls and a bottom wall. Connected to the side walls and the bottom wall are two opposing end walls which define a hollow interior portion. The opposing end walls contain one or more rotation members which are constructed and arranged to provide the barrier unit rotational movement which is independent from the movement of other barrier units directly attached to its opposing walls or units which may indirectly be attached as part of a larger barrier wall system.

    • A water-ballasted barrier system incorporates a concave reflective design, wherein outer walls of the barrier segment are configured in a concave manner. The concave section is designed to prevent the tire of a vehicle, impacting the barrier, from climbing up the side of the barrier segment, by pocketing the tire in the curved center portion of the barrier wall. Adjacent barrier segments are attached together using an interlocking knuckle design, having a lug pin connection system. In some embodiments, wire rope cable is internally molded into each barrier segment to strengthen the barrier system.
