    • Methods and apparatus for providing indications of received emergency alert messages to devices within a consumer premises are disclosed. In one embodiment, a consumer premise equipment (CPE) receiving one or more emergency alert messages from a content provider or managed network determines one or more alert responses for one or more devices of the consumer premise network. In one implementation, the responses are based at least in part on the received emergency alert messages themselves. The CPE issues one or more commands to one or more devices present within the consumer premises (which may be for example a home automation system), to indicate the one or more determined alert indication responses, such as auditory alert and visual alert by the one or more devices. Thus, users in the consumer premises may be made aware of an alert message outside of the typical means in which an alert is displayed, such as via a television.

    • A method for identifying a seismic even makes it possible to determine the direction to a source of a seismic disturbance both on the surface and in a three-dimensional space and increases the probability of correct identification of a seismic event and the accuracy of the determination of the direction to the source. A compact seismic detector for implementing the method reduces the cost of scanning and servicing a perimeter protection system constructed on the basis of such detectors. In the method, two or three pairs of seismic sensors which are divided by a distance and are oriented at an angle with respect to one another, for example mutually perpendicularly along the axes X, Y or along the axes X, Y, Z, respectively, are combined to form one seismic detector. The resultant seismic data are processed to determine the direction to the source of the seismic disturbance.

    • An automated earth fault testing system and early warning system designed to be used with mobile towers for real-time monitoring of the earthing values. The automated earth fault testing system comprises an earth fault testing device powered by a low voltage direct current battery, a plurality of terminals, at least one calibration switch including a calibration pad for calibrating the earth fault testing device, a plurality of visual indication means for providing indication of a variety of conditions including high and/or normal value of the earth resistance value and for indicating a charge level of the earth fault testing device and a liquid crystal display for displaying the earthing values. The earth fault testing device is connected to an alarm system of a base transceiver station utilizing a relay for informing the mobile signal station and operator with information regarding a status of the earth fault testing device.
