摘要： This specification discloses a method of using locality statistics characteristic to enhance gamma corrections. Using the property that the color values of nearby digital image pixels are close to one another, the cache queue operation model is employed to partly replace the time-consuming table mechanism in the gamma correction procedure. The disclosed method first establishes a cache queue and then captures digital image pixels. According to the extracted digital image pixels, gamma correction values are searched to satisfy the cache queue. Finally, the gamma correction values corresponding to the digital image pixels are stored.

摘要： An electronic endoscope selector that is used in an electronic endoscope system which shares peripheral devices, such as a TV monitor, VCR etc., among a plurality of electronic endoscopes. The electronic endoscope selector comprises switching circuits for switching and selecting video signals and synchronization signals fed from one of the plurality of electronic endoscopes. The selector also comprises amplifiers, gamma correction circuits, a system control circuit and memory. The amplifiers and gamma correction circuits are for adjusting gains and gamma correction of RGB video signals fed from the selected electronic endoscope. Parameters for appropriate gains and gamma correction corresponding to each endoscope are stored in the memory. The system control circuit controls the amplifiers and gamma correction circuits in accordance with the parameters that correspond to the selected electronic endoscope.

Generated first is histogram data which indicates distribution of each of a plurality of levels at which a luminance signal component of the input video signal is divided from the lowest to the highest luminance level per specific unit of image. Produced next is at least a first gain based on the distribution of the histogram data. At least the first gain and the histogram data are processed to produce a plural number of data for a gradation correction curve. The gradation correction curve is generated based on the plural number of data. The input video signal is then corrected based on the gradation correction curve.
