摘要： A method and wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for enhanced uplink data transmission is disclosed. A transport block size for transmission of enhanced uplink data is selected. A medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) is segmented into a plurality of segments on a condition that the MAC PDU does not fit in a transport block according to the selected transport block size. A transport block is produced having the transport block size and includes at least one of the plurality of segments. The transport block is transmitted over an enhanced uplink channel and an indication of the transport block size is transmitted over an associated physical control channel.

摘要： A method and system for utilizing smart antennas in transmission of messages between nodes are disclosed. A wireless communication system includes a plurality of nodes, and each node is capable of being connected to each other node. At least a portion of the nodes are provided with a smart antenna configured to generate a plurality of directional beams. Each node maintains a list of other nodes and beam configuration information to be used in transmission of messages to other nodes. When a source node is required to transmit to a target node, the source node retrieves the beam configuration information and transmits with a directional beam directed to the target node.

摘要： A wireless communication method and system for controlling the current data bit rate of a radio link (RL) to maintain the quality of the RL. The system includes a core network (CN), a radio network controller (RNC) and at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). The RL is established between the RNC and the WTRU. The RNC establishes a guaranteed data bit rate, a maximum data bit rate and a current data bit rate associated with the RL. When the RNC senses an event which indicates that the quality of the RL has substantially deteriorated, the RNC reduces the value of the current data bit rate. Then, in a recovery process, if a similar event does not occur during an established waiting period, the RNC restores the current data bit rate back to the maximum data bit rate.

A wireless network device may produce an uplink list with values for the uplink resources. The device may compare a downlink power level to at least one threshold for each of the downlink resources, wherein at least two of the downlink resources are each associated with a different portion of a frame. The device may produce a downlink list, which may be a bit stream providing an indication, for each downlink resource, indicating whether each of the downlink resources have a downlink power level which is less than or equal to the at least one threshold. The device may send the uplink and downlink lists and may receive an uplink list and a downlink list from each of several neighboring wireless network devices.

Measurements of neighboring cells are taken if the cell selection quality value is less than or equal to the predetermined threshold. If a neighboring cell is found that is better than the current cell based on the measurements, then the better neighbor cell is reselected to.

摘要： The present invention is related to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for providing advanced security functions. The WTRU includes trusted platform module (TPM) for performing trusted computing operations; and a secure time component (STC) for providing a secure measurement of a current time. The STC and the TPM are integrated to provide accurate trusted time information to internal and external to the WTRU. The STC may be located on an expanded a subscriber identity module (SIM), on the WTRU platform, or two STCs may be used, one in each location. Similarly, the TPM may be located on an expanded SIM, on the WTRU platform, or two TPMs may be used, one in each location. Preferably, the STC will include a real time clock (RTC); a tamper detection and power failure unit; and a time report and sync controller.
