    • An uninterruptible power supply includes an isolation transformer having dual primary windings. The secondary winding generates an output voltage based on the magnetic field generated in one of the dual primary windings. A first primary winding is coupled to an inverter circuit that receives an alternating current input voltage and applies a clean and filter alternating current to the first primary winding. A second primary winding is coupled to a bypass circuit that applies a bypass voltage when the inverter circuit is in a failure state. The power supply also includes a compensation circuit to maintain the output voltage at a desired level.

    • Power compensation is provided from a power compensation device to a utility power network carrying a nominal voltage. The power compensation device has a steady-state power delivery characteristic. The power compensation is providing by detecting a change of a predetermined magnitude in the nominal voltage on the utility power network and controlling the power compensation device to deliver, for a first period of time and in response to the detected change in the nominal voltage, reactive power to the utility power network. The power compensation device is controlled to deliver, for a second period of time following the first period of time, reactive power to the utility power network at a level that is a factor N(N>1) greater than the steady-state power delivery characteristic of the power compensation device.

    • A device for transmitting electric power between alternating voltage networks includes converters interconnected by direct current lines and provided each with several six-pulse conversion bridges. The six-pulse conversion bridges of one same converter are capable of being connected to an alternating voltage network associated with the converters via inductances differently phase-shifted. A control unit is provided to energize the valves of the six-pulse conversion bridges.     • A static converter includes a current converter on the three-phase side and a current converter on the single-phase side, which are electrically conductively linked to one another on the DC voltage side, and which are respectively electrically conductively connected on the AC voltage side to a feeding three-phase network and a single-phase receiving network. A magnitude reference signal may be generated responsive to a phase current of an AC bus and/or the DC voltage on the DC bus. Power is transferred between the AC and DC busses responsive to the phase reference signal and the magnitude reference signal. Generation of the phase reference signal may include generating a DC voltage error signal responsive to the DC voltage on the DC bus, generating a phase offset signal responsive to the DC voltage error signal, and generating the phase reference signal responsive to the phase offset signal. Generation of the magnitude reference signal may include generating a volt-amperes reactive (VAR) error signal responsive to the phase current and generating the magnitude reference signal responsive to the VAR error signal.
