    • The present invention relates to thermoplastic molding compositions comprising a mixture composed of (A) at least one methyl methacrylate polymer, (B) at least one copolymer, obtainable via polymerization of a mixture, composed of (B1) at least one vinylaromatic monomer, and (B2) at least one vinyl cyanide, as monomers, (C) at least one graft polymer, obtainable from a core, and a first graft shell, and a second graft shell, (D) at least one polybutyl acrylate whose molar mass is from 1700 to 4000 g/mol (determined as Mw by means of gel permeation chromatography), and (E) if appropriate conventional additives, as component (E), to a process for preparation of these thermoplastic molding compositions, to the use of this thermoplastic molding composition for production of moldings, and also to the use of styrene-methyl methacrylate copolymers whose molar mass is from 1700 to 4000 g/mol (determined as Mw by means of gel permeation chromatography) for improvement of flowability and for reduction of the dependency of notched impact strength and haze values of thermoplastic molding compositions on injection-molding conditions.

    • The present invention is a rubber modified monovinylidene aromatic polymer composition where the rubber is a sulfanylsilane chain end modified elastomeric polymer. In the present invention the functionalized rubber provides sufficient grafting levels in standard graft polymerization process technologies to prepare desired rubber particle size distributions and morphologies. Across a range of rubber modified monovinylidene aromatic polymers, it has been found that the use of the modified elastomeric polymers according to the present invention can improve the combinations of resin properties, particularly clarity, surface and physical properties, including both rubber modified monovinylidene aromatic homopolymers (e.g., high impact polystyrene and copolymers (e.g., ABS). The functionalized rubbers have sulfanyl functional groups that provide an optimized reactive grafting site. This ensures that under graft polymerization conditions a monovinylidene aromatic polymer block is formed grafted to the butadiene polymer block. This is particularly desirable to enable the use of polybutadiene homopolymer rubbers which are more cost effectively used in rubber-modified monovinylidene aromatic polymers.

    • The present invention provides a viscosity modifier (A) for thermoplastic polyester resin obtainable by polymerizing (a) 70 to 95% by weight of an aromatic vinyl monomer, (b) 5 to 30% by weight of an alkyl acrylate having an alkyl group with 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and (c) 0 to 10% by weight of other vinyl monomers copolymerizable with both; a viscosity modifier (A′) for thermoplastic polyester resin characterized by covering 100 parts by weight of polymer particles (A-1) with 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of polymer particles (A-2), the polymer particle (A-1) are obtained by polymerizing (a) 70 to 95% by weight of an aromatic vinyl monomer, (b) 5 to 30% by weight of an alkyl acrylate having an alkyl group with 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and (c) 0 to 10% by weight of other vinyl monomers copolymerizable with both and having a glass transition temperature of 60° C. or higher and a volume-average particle diameter of 50 to 500 μm, and the polymer particles (A-2) have volume-average particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.5 μm; and a thermoplastic polyester resin composition and a molded article containing the viscosity modifier.

    • The objective of the present invention is to provide a rubber-reinforced resin which, when formed into a molded article, can prevent contamination or soiling of an article contacted with the molded article or a device on the periphery of the molded article and is excellent in impact resistance and transparency, and an anti-static resin composition which is excellent in impact resistance and anti-static properties. The present rubber-reinforced resin comprises a rubber-reinforced copolymeric resin produced by polymerization of 20 to 95 parts by mass of monomer components comprising methyl methacrylate, an aromatic vinyl compound and a cyanidated vinyl compound in the presence of a rubbery polymer having a predetermined volume-average particle diameter, or comprises a mixture of the rubber-reinforced copolymeric resin and a copolymer of the above-mentioned monomer components. Additionally, the present anti-static resin composition comprises the above-mentioned rubber-reinforced resin and a polymer type anti-static agent, wherein the rubbery polymer is contained in an amount from 5% to 40% by mass. In each of the rubber-reinforced resin and the anti-static resin composition, the total amount of substances detected at a retention time of 10 to 24 minutes is 20,000 μg or less per gram of the sample as determined by pyrolysis GC analysis.
