摘要： The present invention relates to MEMS (microelectromechanical systems) accelerometers, in particular to an accelerometer designed to reduce error in the accelerometer output. The MEMS accelerometer includes a proof mass, which is capable of movement along at least two perpendicular axes and at least one measurement structure. The proof mass is mechanically coupled to the measurement structure along the sense axis of the measurement structure, such that movement of the proof mass along the sense axis causes the moveable portion of the measurement structure to move, and is decoupled from the measurement structures along an axis or axes perpendicular to the sense axis of the measurement structure, such that movement of the proof mass perpendicular to the sense axis of the measurement structure does not cause the moveable portion of the measurement structure to move.

摘要： A method and system for estimating surface roughness of a ground for an off-road vehicle to control ground speed comprises detecting motion data of an off-road vehicle traversing a field or work site during a sampling interval. A pitch sensor is adapted to detect pitch data of the off-road vehicle for the sampling interval to obtain a pitch acceleration. A roll sensor is adapted to detect roll data of the off-road vehicle for the sampling interval to obtain a roll acceleration. An electronic data processor or surface roughness index module determines or estimates a surface roughness index based on the detected motion data, pitch data and roll data for the sampling interval. The surface roughness index can be displayed on the graphical display to a user or operator of the vehicle, or applied to control or execute a ground speed setting of the vehicle.

摘要： Described is a system for adaptive calibration of a sensor of an inertial measurement unit. Following each sensor measurement, the system performs automatic calibration of a multi-axis sensor. A reliability of a current calibration is assessed. If the current calibration is reliable, then bias and scale factor values are updated according to the most recent sensor measurement, resulting in updated bias and scale factor values. If the current calibration is not reliable, then previous bias and scale factor values are used. The system causes automatic calibration of the multi-axis sensor using either the updated or previous bias and scale factor values.
