    • Tunable bandpass filters are provided. In one embodiment, the invention relates to a tunable bandpass filter including a dielectric substrate having a first surface opposite to a second surface, a conductive ground plane disposed on the first surface, a microstrip conductive trace pattern disposed on the second surface, the trace pattern defining a phase velocity compensation transmission line section including a series of spaced alternating T-shaped conductor portions, at least one varactor diode coupled to a first T-shaped conductor portion of the series of T-shaped conductor portions and to the conductive ground plane, and bias control circuitry coupled to the first T-shaped conductor portion, wherein the bias control circuitry is configured to control the at least one varactor diode.

    • There is provided an improved bandpass filter having multiple passbands, and in one embodiment, two independent passbands are provided by a single filter. Embodiments of the present invention support communication architectures with several frequency bands without requiring one signal path per band, thus realizing improvements in size, cost, and weight. One aspect of the invention utilizes strongly overcoupled resonators to achieve multiple passband response, and in various embodiments, single-ended or differential mode inputs and outputs are accommodated.

    • A circuit substrate has three wiring layers, wherein a signal line is formed in a first wiring layer; a ground plane is formed in a second wiring layer; a resonant line is formed in a third wiring layer. A circumferential slit is formed in the ground plane, wherein an island electrode separated from the ground plane is formed inside the slit. The left end of the resonant line is connected to the island electrode through an interlayer-connecting via, while the right end of the resonant line is connected to the ground plane through an interlayer-connecting via. A transmission line (or a microstrip line) is formed using the signal line and the ground plane, and therefore a complex resonator is formed to embrace the transmission line. This achieves band elimination with regard to a signal component of a resonance frequency among signals propagating through the microstrip line. Thus, it is possible to form a noise suppression structure without mounting additional parts on the circuit substrate, and therefore it is possible to effectively eliminate power distribution noise and noise propagating through the signal line with a small and simple configuration.

    • Provided is a line filter. The line filter includes a plurality of dielectric layers stacked one another, a plurality of line resonator each comprising transmission lines on at least two of the dielectric layers, and a tuning unit adjusting a binding amount and resonance frequency of the line resonators. Since the line filter includes at least one line resonator on at least two stacked dielectric layers, the integration can be easily realized. Further, since the line filter can be adjusted even after the line filter is manufacture, the line filter has an excellent frequency property. Since the line filter is realized on the plurality of the dielectric layers, the frequency band can be widened.
