摘要： A slide previewer/sorter/stack loader having a holder (18) which is adapted to receive two photographic slides in first and second receptacles at one end thereof. The holder is initially positioned at an angle above horizontal so that a first slide placed on a chute (16, 17) will drop into the first receptacle by force of gravity. When in the initial position, the slide in the holder is illuminated by a back light so that the slide can be previewed through a window in the holder and edited. The holder pivots in such a manner that the second receptacle can be positioned over a slide slot (28) above a projector. Means (26) are provided to restrain the slide in the first receptacle during transit from the initial viewing position to the position wherein the second receptacle is positioned over the slide slot. A second slide in the projector is forced upward by the projector slide lifter mechanism into the second receptacle in the holder, and is retained therein by a latch (52). The holder is then moved by the projector tray indexing mechanism (78) to position the first receptacle over the slide slot. The first slide in the first receptacle is then lowered into the projector by the projector slide lifter mechanism for projection. The holder is then returned to its initial position, and the second slide drops out of the second receptacle into a bin in a tray (29). The cycle is repeated to project successive slides.

The tongs are operated by compressing the tabs on the tongs which spread the tongs' arms apart causing previously clamped slides to be released. When the tabs on the tongs are not compressed, the arms are sufficiently wide to contain the predetermined number of slides partitioned by the spacer.

摘要： A slide previewer/tray loader having a holder which is adapted to receive a photographic slide at one end thereof. The holder is initially positioned at an angle above horizontal so that the slide will drop into the holder by force of gravity. 摘要： A multislide holder and editor comprises a rectangular plate-like body having a plurality of rectangular slide-receiving pockets formed between two sets of parallel ribs disposed at right angles to one another. Upon insertion into its respective pocket each slide enters two spaced parallel open-ended side edge engaging channels, each channel comprising two spaced edge-engaging members. One of these edge engaging members comprises at least two longitudinally spaced portions with a gap between them, while the other cooperating member is disposed opposite this gap and is of not greater length than the gap, so that the entire body can be formed by a single molding operation with linearly-moving relatively simple mold parts. A cabinet for the holder and editor has a source of illumination in the cabinet door, and a plurality of the holders are mounted by channel members on the top and bottom inner wall to move parallel to the door in its open position, so that they can be positioned in front of the door for inspection and editing. The door can be readily removed to serve as a separate light source for viewing and editing.

摘要： A tray type storage system for photographic slides is disclosed. The system includes an elongated tray having a bottom and low side walls, and a series of U-shaped storage units, each for holding a stack of slides oriented vertically. Each storage unit consists of a bottom and front and back walls, and the height and spacing of the walls is such that a single slide in the storage unit cannot fall flat to the bottom of the unit, but will lie diagonally between the bottom of one wall and the top of the other wall, avoiding difficulty in retrieving the slide from the unit. The series of storage units are retained in longitudinal succession in the tray member by small front and back flanges extending up from the bottom of the tray member. A rectangular cardboard sleeve may be provided for any or all of the individual storage units to act as a dust cover for the bundle of slides, and the enclosed unit will be accommodated by the tray member. An elongated box may be provided for the tray member and its contents.
