摘要： A converter (30) comprises first and second DC terminals (32,34) connectable in use to a DC network (40), the converter (30) including a converter limb (36) extending between the DC terminals (32,34), the converter limb (36) including first and second limb portions separated by an AC terminal (38), the AC terminal (38) connectable in use to an AC voltage, each limb portion including at least one director switch (44) connected in series with a waveform synthesizer between the AC terminal (44) and a respective one of the first and second DC terminals (32,34), the waveform synthesizers operable to control the modulation of an AC voltage waveform at the AC terminal (38), each director switch (44) operable to switch the respective waveform synthesizer into and out of circuit between the respective DC terminal (32,34) and the AC terminal (38); and a controller (56) programmed to selectively control the switching of the director switches (44) to switch both of the limb portions into circuit concurrently to form a current conduction path between the DC terminals (32,34), the current conduction path configured to carry a current for presentation to the DC network (40), wherein the controller (56) is programmed to selectively operate the waveform synthesizers to inject at least one harmonic component to modulate the AC voltage waveform at the AC terminal (38) so that during the formation of the current conduction path the magnitude of the modulated AC voltage waveform is lower than the magnitude of the fundamental component of the AC voltage waveform, and wherein the at least one harmonic component is a non-triplen harmonic component.

摘要： An LED filament bulb includes a driver and two filament sets. The driver includes a rectifier circuit, a filter circuit, a constant voltage (CV) circuit, a first constant current (CC) circuit and a second CC circuit. The rectifier circuit converts an AC power into a DC power. The filter circuit connects the rectifier circuit for filtering an AC component. The CV circuit connects the filter circuit for generating a fixed voltage and outputting the fixed voltage via a voltage output end. The voltage output end connects a first electrode of each filament set. The first CC circuit connects both the CV circuit and a second electrode of one of the filament sets. The second CC circuit connects both the CV circuit and a second electrode of another one of the filament sets. The CC circuits make currents flowing through the two filament sets identical.

摘要： A power management integrated circuit (PMIC) can improve the ramp up speed of a boost converter with the inclusion of a controllable switch that may modify the connection of an output capacitor to reduce the ramp time as the output voltage is ramping to a desired boost setpoint. The switch may be controlled using jump start logic to switch a first plate or terminal of the output capacitor from a ground connection to a voltage supply connection. Once a threshold voltage is reached, the first plate of the capacitor may be switched from the supply voltage to ground. In certain cases, by switching the connection of the output capacitor between ground and a supply voltage based on one or more threshold voltages or a boost setpoint, the time to ramp from an initial voltage to a desired boost setpoint may be reduced.

摘要： A power supply and a method to provide power to a load via a power delivery network are presented. The power delivery network adds a pole and/or zero to a transfer function of the power supply. The power supply has a feedback unit to sense a load voltage at the load and to provide a feedback voltage which is indicative of the load voltage. The power supply has an input amplifier provides an error voltage based on the feedback voltage. The power supply has a power converter to provide power to the power delivery network depending on the error voltage. The power supply has an equalization unit to add a zero and/or a pole to the transfer function of the power supply, such that the pole and/or zero of the power delivery network is partially compensated. The equalization unit is located between an input amplifier and a power converter.

摘要： A motor drive that outputs a sinusoidal waveform utilizes power switching devices operable at high switching frequencies. The switching devices may be operated, for example, between twenty kilohertz and one megahertz. A first filter is included at the output of the motor drive which has a bandwidth selected to attenuate voltage components at the output which are at the switching frequency or multiples thereof such that the output voltage waveform is generally sinusoidal. Additional filtering is included within the motor drive to establish a circulation path for common mode currents within the motor drive. Further, a shield is provided adjacent to those components within the motor drive that may experience voltage or current waveforms at the switching frequency or multiples thereof to cause radiated emissions to establish eddy currents within the EMI shield rather than passing through the shield into the environment.

摘要： A series circuit includes a capacitor connected in series with a power converter output terminals. The power converter provides an auxiliary voltage and a controller controls the power converter auxiliary voltage according to a selected function, such that the series circuit behaves as a capacitor, an inductor, or an impedance, based on the selected function. The controller may sense a voltage across the capacitor and use the sensed voltage to control the power converter auxiliary voltage according to the selected function. The series circuit may be connected in parallel with output terminals of an AC-DC converter, wherein the series circuit operates according to a selected mode to produce the auxiliary voltage, and the auxiliary voltage substantially cancels a low frequency AC voltage ripple across the capacitor, such that a substantially pure DC output voltage is delivered to the load.
