    • There is described a method of controlling signal alignment in a power amplifier, comprising: receiving an input signal to be amplified; receiving a supply voltage for the power amplifier, the supply voltage being derived in dependence on the signal to be amplified; amplifying the input signal to produce an output signal; comparing the output signal with a plurality of distorted versions of the input signal, each distorted version of the input signal being associated with a different time delay value; and adjusting the timing of either the input signal or the supply voltage by an amount in dependence on a time delay value determined to be associated with a distorted version of the input signal which most closely matches the output signal.

    • A radio frequency (RF) system includes an RF power amplifier (PA), which uses an envelope tracking power supply voltage to provide an RF transmit signal, which has an RF envelope; and further includes an envelope tracking power supply, which provides the envelope tracking power supply voltage based on a setpoint. RF transceiver circuitry, which includes envelope control circuitry and an RF modulator is disclosed. The envelope control circuitry provides the setpoint, such that the envelope tracking power supply voltage is clipped to form clipped regions and substantially tracks the RF envelope between the clipped regions, wherein a dynamic range of the envelope tracking power supply voltage is limited. The RF modulator provides an RF input signal to the RF PA, which receives and amplifies the RF input signal to provide the RF transmit signal.

    • The present invention relates to a digital pre-distortion apparatus, including: a coefficient control unit for setting coefficients in a look-up table, the coefficients minimizing a difference of an input signal to a power amplifier and an exponentiation of the sum of a first absolute output signal having the first number of delays and a second absolute output signal having the second number of delays, for an absolute signal of an output signal of a power amplifier; an adder for receiving a first absolute input signal having the first number of delays and a second absolute input signal having the second number of delays, for an absolute signal of the input signal of the power amplifier, and outputting the sum of the first absolute input signal and the second absolute input signal; and said look-up table, connected to the adder, for outputting result values according to the set coefficients in correspondence to the sum of the first absolute input signal and the second absolute input signal.
