    • A female terminal structure connector and a male terminal structure connector constitute an electrical connector. The electrical connector includes a plurality of terminals made of a metal sheet and arranged in a housing in a plate thickness direction thereof to face with each other in plate surfaces. The terminals are fitted into each other on a fitting surface provided on the housing. In the electrical connector, the terminal extends in a direction perpendicular to a fitting surface. A part of the terminal situated on a fitting surface side has a contact portion in a plate surface parallel to a fitting direction thereof. Further, the terminal of at least one of the connectors has an elastic portion to elastically bend in a plate thickness direction in a part of the terminal. The contact portion is provided in the elastic portion.

    • A connector for a flat conductor includes a terminal maintaining a flat plane shape and having a fixed arm portion and a movable arm portion extending in a same direction. The fixed arm portion and the movable arm portion are connected through a joining portion at an intermediate portion thereof in a longitudinal direction thereof. A housing securely holds the fixed arm portion. The movable arm portion has a press portion on one end thereof in a longitudinal direction thereof and a pressed portion on the other end thereof. A cam portion of a pressure member presses the pressed portion to displace the pressed portion when the pressure member moves in a specific direction. When the pressed portion is displaced within the plane, the movable arm portion is displaced around the joining portion as a lever to displace the press portion, so that the press portion presses the flat conductor.

    • The latching metallic piece (12) has a lever-like arm (20) that extends in the direction of receiving the flat-type cable C. The lever-like arm (20) has a latching claw (20A) at one end, a fulcrum section (22) at the middle point, and an extending section at the other end. A pressuring member (14) has a restricting section that does not contact with the extending section (20B) of the latching metallic piece (12) at the open position, and that prevents the displacement of the extending section at the closed position. When the pressuring member is at the open position, the lever-like arm (20) is in the state that it can be freely displaced so as to allow insertion/removal of the flat-type cable. When the pressuring member is at the closed position, the displacement of the lever-like arm relative to the latching section in the direction that increases the latching of the latching claw (20A) is prevented, and the displacement of the lever-like arm in the direction that reduces the latching is prevented.
