    • A keypad assembly (100) provides improved backlighting in a slim-line from factor with a minimal number of LEDs (130). The keypad assembly (100) utilizes side-firing LEDs (130) mounted to a keypad flex (112) which protrude through subsequent thin layers of substrates. A light-guide film (104) disposed over the layers includes corresponding cut-outs through which the side-firing LEDS partially protrude. The light-guide film includes light dispersion areas (114) formed thereon. A cover (102) seals the side-firing LEDs (130) protruding through the light-guide film (104). An interconnect flex (132) couples to the keypad flex (112) to provide flexible coupling of the keypad assembly to an electronic device. The light-guide film (104) provides both light dispersion and sealing to the keypad assembly (100).

    • Provided are an apparatus and method thereof for recording a presentation. The presentation recording apparatus includes: a projector operable to project an original image of a presentation onto a screen; a camera operable to capture the image of the presentation projected onto the screen and a light of a pointing device which is irradiated onto the screen; a memory; and a controller, wherein if the projector projects the image of the presentation onto the screen, the controller controls the camera to capture the image of the presentation projected onto the screen, determines coordinate information corresponding to a position of the light of the pointing device irradiated onto the screen, and controls the memory to store the original image of the presentation together with the determined coordinate information.

    • A display apparatus is described that includes a plurality of electrofluidic chromatophore (EFC) pixel cells. Each pixel cell comprises a fluid holder for holding a polar fluid and a non-polar fluid having differing display properties, the fluid holder comprising a reservoir with a geometry having a small visible area projected in the direction of a viewer onto the polar fluid, and a channel with a geometry having a large visible area projected in the direction of a viewer onto the polar fluid. The channel is connected to the reservoir so as to enable free movement of the polar fluid and non-polar fluid between the channel and the reservoir. At least part of a surface of the channel comprises a wetting property responsive to a supply voltage over the pixel cell and defining (i) a stable region wherein the supply voltage stabilizes polar fluid in the channel; (ii) a fill region that controls filling of polar fluid in the channel and (iii) a retract region that controls retracting of polar fluid in the channel. At least two pixel cell terminals are configured to supply the supply voltage to at least part of the surface of the channel comprising the wetting property for supply voltage controlled channel movement of polar fluid. The display further comprises a driver operative to provide controlled column voltages and any of a predefined row select or non-select voltage. A circuit board comprises a row electrode and a column electrode each directly connecting the driver to the pixel cell terminals for supplying the supply voltage to the pixel cell terminals as a voltage difference between the row and column electrodes in a passive matrix configuration.

    • An electron emission display comprising an electron collector or metal member is provided. The electron emission display comprises an electron emission substrate comprising at least one electron emission device and an image forming substrate comprising at least one emission region and at least one non-emission region. Images are formed in the emission regions by the collision of electrons emitted from the electron emission devices with the emission regions. The image forming substrate further comprises a metal layer positioned on at least the emission regions, and at least one electron collector positioned in the non-emission region. The electron collector may comprise first and second ends, wherein the first end is attached to the image forming substrate and the second end faces the electron emission substrate. The electron collector stabilizes the metal layer and fluorescent layers, thereby reducing arc and maintaining uniform brightness by re-directing scattered electrons toward the fluorescent layers.
