摘要： The coil end-turn segments of a generator exciter rotor are retained using an end-turn retention assembly that includes an inner band and an outer band. The inner band is located around at least a portion of each of the end-turn segments and has two ends. The outer peripheral surface of the inner band is tapered such that the thickness of the inner band varies between its ends. The outer band is located around the inner band and also has two ends. The inner peripheral surface of the outer band is tapered in a fashion that is reverse to that of the inner band outer surface, and such that the outer band thickness varies between its ends. By forming oppositely configured tapers in the inner and outer bands, the outer bands will remain in place and not migrate axially away from the lamination core during exciter rotor rotation.

摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for an axial electric motor. The apparatus comprises, a stator having coils thereon for producing a magnetic field, a rotor rotated by the magnetic field, an output shaft coupled to the rotor, and a ring incorporating a coolant channel circumferentially engaging the stator for absorbing heat and reaction torque from the stator. It is preferable that that the ring have inwardly extending teeth that mesh with the coils on the stator. The space between the teeth and the coils is preferably filled with a substantially solid thermally conductive material to transmit stator reaction torque to the teeth and cool the stator. The coils are preferably formed from a flat ribbon a portion of whose principal surface is perpendicular to the teeth. A supporting frame is desirably fixedly coupled to the ring and rotatably coupled to the output shaft.

摘要： A synchronous generator which is driven by an engine whose rotation variation is large and which can easily incorporate an output voltage stabilization circuit. In this synchronous generator, magnetism shorting paths for a magnetic field produced by the armature coil is formed without changing the armature specifications. Magnetic fluxes produced by currents flowing in the armature coils can easily pass through the magnetism shorting paths, thereby increasing the equivalent inductance value and improving the frequency characteristic of the inductance. This in turn improves the voltage step-up chopper characteristic during generation to stabilize the generated voltage of the synchronous generator driven by, for example, an automobile engine that widely varies in revolution speed.
