摘要： A lighter, more cost-effective roofing system and method, which includes a rain diverting feature for directing rainwater and snowmelt away from an underlying sheet material and roof deck, is provided. The invention includes a sheet material having an upper surface and a lower surface. The upper surface includes one of a hook and loop fastener and the lower surface is configured to be attached to the roof deck. The present invention further includes a plurality of roofing tiles, each tile having hook and loop fasteners adhered to a back face which extend along the width of the tile at or near the uppermost and lowermost edges. Each rain diverting feature, which is a strip-like device with one surface made up of a plurality of hook portions and an opposing surface made up of a plurality of portions complementary to the hook portions, is positioned between and releasably attached to the hook and loop fasteners located on a side-edge portion of two adjacent tiles and the underlying sheet material, thereby releasably attaching the tiles to each other and to the upper surface of the underlying sheet material. The use of rain diverting devices to direct rainwater and snowmelt away from the underlying sheet material and roof deck allows for single lap tiling and thus less weight on the roof deck. It also allows for shorter tiles to be used, thus saving material cost.

摘要： A method and system for segmenting touching text lines in an image of a uchen-script Tibetan historical document are provided. The method includes: first obtaining a binary image of a uchen-script Tibetan historical document after layout analysis; detecting local baselines in the binary image, to generate a local baseline information set; detecting and segmenting a touching region in the binary image according to the local baseline information set, to generate a touching-region-segmented image; allocating connected components in the touching-region-segmented image to corresponding lines, to generate a text line allocation result; and splitting text lines in the touching-region-segmented image according to the text line allocation result, to generate a line-segmented image. In the present disclosure, touching text lines in a Tibetan historical document can be effectively segmented, and text line segmentation efficiency of the Tibetan historical document is improved.

摘要： The present invention relates to methods and systems for automated processing of document images using mobile and desktop communications devices. Systems and methods are provided for expediting analysis of the accuracy and quality of captured images by such devices before transmission to a server for processing. The processes use on-device software to provide immediate feedback to the user as to whether the quality of the document photograph is sufficient for processing, without the need for intermediate communication with a server. The processes utilize component labeling, MICR character recognition methods, automatic image rotation, and weighted image scaling. The invention increases speed of processing, reduces rates of rejection, increases processor efficiency, limits memory use, identifies images with likely errors, and provides the opportunity for correction of errors at the earliest possible time.
