    • A polisher has an offset axis and a friction cam useful in a method of polishing that comprises a more random, elongated polishing pattern than known orbital polishers and is capable of portable use using a 9 volt battery. The method is capable of using lower contact pressures between fiber ends and a polishing surface and higher rates of rotation of the drive mechanism, reducing the polishing time for preparing fiber ends for applications. The polishing pattern changes when pressure is applied between a fiber end and the polishing surface. The fiber end provides one intermittent axis of rotation and the friction cam provides another intermittent axis of rotation.

    • A sorting device and a method for sorting goods in transit for an aircraft are disclosed. The sorting device includes a sorting region with a sorting unit and a storage region. The sorting region is adapted such that goods in transit are capable of being provided to the sorting region in an undetermined first arrangement. The sorting region includes a longitudinal axis, where a sorting unit may be moved along the longitudinal axis of the sorting region. The sorting unit is capable of sorting the goods in transit from an undetermined first arrangement to a predetermined second arrangement, where the goods in transit may be provided in the predetermined second arrangement in the storage region.

    • A cocktail shaker uses a motor to cause a container to be shaken. The shaker includes a following member coupled to a following device that is engaged in a directional mechanism, such as a slot or rod. The directional mechanism defines the path and angle of the motion imparted to the container. The throw is defined by the mechanism that transforms rotational motion of a motor to a shaking motion of the container. A mechanism for transforming rotational motion to a shaking motion may include a rotational member and an attachment member pivotally coupled to the rotational member on one end and coupled to the device holding the container on the other end. A combination of throw, path, and motor speed are capable of providing a mechanism for shaking the container that is similar to shaking the container by hand. For example, the motor speed and duration of shaking may be continuously variable or discretely selectable, which may be selected by the user.

    • Currently, piping tapes are used as elastic masking elements of joints between lateral panels in an aircraft. According to one embodiment, a gap covering for cabin panels in an aircraft is provided, where the gap covering comprises a flexible cover region that is arranged between the cabin panels and finishes off so as to be substantially flush with surfaces of the panels. In this way, a lightweight economical gap covering which covers gaps in an effective and attractive manner and provides protection against injury is provided.

    • A modular installation system for the installation of camera provides an installation kit capable of being used either flush mounted or protruding on the wall of an aircraft cabin. An external mounting housing or a mounting frame may be used. A camera module includes a camera and mounting hardware including a latching mechanism. The camera module may be arranged substantially in front of the installation wall or substantially flush with the installation wall using the same latching mechanism of the camera module. An external housing may be used for housing the camera module such that the external housing mounts on a surface of a wall or partially inserted into a wall, and the external housing provides latching hardware for mating with the latching mechanism of the camera module. A mounting frame may be inserted in a wall cutout to provide latching hardware for mating with the latching mechanism of the camera module for substantially flush mounting. An external frame may be removably fitted onto the camera module.
