摘要： A power charge (12) for a setting tool is composed of a propellant (16) and an igniter (32) embedded in the propellant (16). The propellant (16) is a homogeneous mixture of combustible components, an oxidizer and an epoxy binder, which together provide a continuous mass of solid form. The propellant (16) has an exterior (14) which, together with an outward face (36) of the igniter (32), is exposed and provides the outer surface of the power charge (12). A protuberant rib (28) extends along the length of the exterior (14) in a spiral-shaped pattern and provides a stand-off spacer between the power charge (12) and the setting tool. The igniter (32) has a main body portion (52) and an annular-shaped protrusion (48) which extends laterally outward from the main body portion (52) and into the propellant (16) to retain the igniter (32) within the propellant (16). The entire power charge (12) is formed of combustible materials.

摘要： A power charge (12) for a downhole setting tool has a sleeve (14) which defines a housing. A propellant (16) is located in the sleeve (14) in solid form and defines a first end face (20). An igniter (32) is embedded into the propellant (16) first end face (20). The igniter (32) has a main body portion (52) with an end located adjacent to the first end face (20), and an annular-shaped protrusion (48) which extends laterally outward from the main body portion (52) and into the propellant (16). The annular-shaped protrusion (48) defines a shoulder (46) which engages the propellant (16) to retain the igniter (32) within the propellant (16) at the first end face (20) of the power charge (12). The sleeve (14) is formed of a combustible material which will burn when the propellant (16) is burned.

摘要： An anhydrous ammonia vapor charge unit for an applicator tank maintains a pressure charge on an applicator tank. A secondary anhydrous ammonia tank is disposed adjacent to the applicator tank. Ammonia vapor from the secondary tank is passed through a vapor compressor and then is injected into the applicator tank to provide a greater pressure charge within the applicator tank. In a second embodiment, a small portion of a liquid flow stream of ammonia being removed from the applicator tank is separated from the flow stream, passed through a heat vaporizer for expanding from a liquid to a gas, passed through a vapor pressure, and then is injected into the applicator tank for maintaining the pressure charge on the applicator tank. Preferably the heat vaporizer used hydraulic fluid from a tractor to heat the anhydrous ammonia.

摘要： An earth boring bit with sealed cutter bearings has lubricant flow passages which extend from an interior cavity of the bit body to spaces located between bearing shafts and rotary cutters. A lubricant compensator has an elongate body defined by a tube which has a first end disposed in one of the flow passages and a second end which extends into the interior cavity. A piston is initially disposed in the second end, biased to apply pressure to lubricant located in the flow passages. The first end has a section for receiving the piston when lubricant is expelled from within the tube. Apertures extend through a sidewall of the tube, spaced apart from the section in the first end and in fluid communication with the flow passages. The apertures, the flow passages, and the spaces located between bearing shafts and rotary cutters are sized for passing drilling fluid.

摘要： A novel molded foam pool float (10) and ottoman (12) are formed of a continuous form of semi-rigid, pliable foam of constant density. The pool float (10) has an elongate shape which partially circumscribes a user, having an enclosed end (24) with a headrest (38), two arms (26, 28) symmetrically extending from opposite sides of the enclosed end (24), and an open end (30) disposed between ends (34, 36) of the arms (26, 28). The headrest (38) extends upward from the enclosed end (24), above the arms (26, 28) to provide both a headrest and a chin rest, depending upon the orientation of the pool float (10) to the user. The upper surfaces (58, 60) of the arms (26, 28) are preferably recessed beneath respective sides of the arms (26, 28) and have a pebbled texture. Void recesses (72, 74, 76) are provided in the lower side (16) of the pool float (10) for trapping air to provide enhanced flotation and reduce the unit costs of the foam for the pool float (10).

A link extends through the two floating pins and downward beneath the floating pins to define a swing arm. A yoke is mounted in cantilevered arrangement from a lower end of the swing arm by means of two spaced apart offset pins, with the mounting spacing thereof being more closely spaced and at a lower elevation at the swing arm than at the yoke. A probe is pivotally mounted in an end of the yoke disposed opposite of the swing arm, free to rotate in an angular direction about an X-axis disposed transverse to a direction of travel along a Y axis and constrained to travel along the Z-axis, which is preferably perpendicular to the Y-axis.
